I believe him. I'm just weirded out that I can't find the morning report. I see someone linked directly to it, but when I go to the deva home page, the link is broken for me.

edit: ok, after trying to refresh the DV home page multiple times over multiple days, I got a flash of inspiration, and refreshed the 503 error page with a shift+F5 force-refresh, and POOF! the morning report showed up. ... so never mind.

Hey Pierce, I had been getting those DVMR link errors for the past week or so, but it worked for me this morning.

Does anyone have any intel regarding the snow pack on South Pass? Melting away I hope.
End of January I want to ride from Panamint Springs Resort to the hot springs via Saline Valley Road.

Hey Bicycle Phil,

Here's some wisdom about the passes into Saline Valley in general, from OP 2on2off, that was supported recently by a friend who failed to get into Saline Valley via South Pass in a 4x4 this
Thanksgiving ...

They eventually (days later) got to the hot springs via North Pass ...
Anyway, they saw bikes at the hot springs that had gotten there
via Steele and Lippincott ...

Hopefully someone will chime in with a more recent South Pass report
than the one posted on this thread by traveltoad on 1/3/14 that reported 5' drifts
on South Pass ... (postcount=1109)

see you around the campfire,

I thought I knew every trail in the area but can't place this one. Not Manly pass horse trail, possibly trail down from Lookout city?

Rode DV this weekend.

Panamint Valley Road, still closed - reports of CHP writing tickets on the 190 end on Dec 27th. We started at the 190 end, road past the road closed signs and had no problems. No road crews were there on Sunday, and the washout section (maybe 500-1000ft) was now gravel, easily passable on anything.

Goler Wash - a bulldozer has covered the steps in dirt/gravel that it dug up from just beyond the steps. I don't know if this made it easier or harder on my Tiger - it was quite tough, made it 90% of the way up and had to have a friend help me push it the rest of the way after digging the back wheel in. Should be very easy on a lighter bike, obviously.

Mengal Pass was in good shape but definitely a challenge :).

Titus Canyon was a breeze.

Getting to racetracks was a breeze.

Nothing else of note.

Rode through last week, agree with above.

WildRose is closed, they have it pretty well gated on the north side, so I couldn't even get through to scope it out.

South Pass was still blocked.

Old Toll Road was a hoot!!!!
