Trona Wildrose is open as of Sunday 2-2-14. The barricades are down.I even tested the repair area still in gravel, top speed on the 640 is 96MPH with 16/47 gearing. Smooooth! no CHP in sight.
Titus is good to go on a Goldwing, Echo canyon is the usual loose gravel most of the way through with a rock step halfway through, our group had a 950A & 950SE. Both made it no problem.

Titus was a little chewed up in the middle from rain runoff.
Lippencott was the same as usual... rocky, fist sized rocks everywhere, a few steps (we went up).
Steel Pass and the wash just above the hot springs is a little chewed up from rain runoff.
Echo Canyon is exactly the same.
Chloride Cliffs and the road to it is the same, smooth gravel.

pretty much the whole park is doable on any dual sport by an experienced rider. and is all open.

Only the Suzukis (broken chain guides)and Husky (blown engine)had issues, the KTM's worked flawlessly.

As always.

Ha ha. I had a 950 for years. That is how I know.

Besides, I regularly work on 950/990 on almost every trip I go on. Something is always going wrong with them...

They are great machines IF they are running.... Don't pretend you don't know what I'm talking about. Just friendly jabs here my friend...

@pcvance and @RAZR, I don't see a 950/990 on your bike resume... So how would either of you know?

They don't. They have lite-bikes, which are rather quite good from KTM, and that's what they're talking about, ad infinitem.
It's the LCx's that have so many problems.

Let's get back to DV riding conditions...
Did anyone get a wheel on the grade coming off Cerro Gordo down to Saline? We are trying to plan rides for the noobs and hear it got washed out really bad and virtually impassable. A few of us may go up ahead of time to pre-ride it. Maybe a trip to Lone Pine or Bishop and put a couple'a rides in.

DV next weekend

Planning a ride through North/South Passes, warm springs and Lippincott.

This recent storm could have dropped several inches of snow in that area. Anyone riding Saline Valley this weekend? Would like to get a report of the rain and any snow that fell.

It is suppose to be very warm next weekend in DV so I'm wondering if any snow or ice that has fallen might melt by then.
