In the past we have charged one price for the first class then a reduced rate for additional classes but I believe we might just charge 25 bucks for each amateur entry, no matter how many classes a rider wants to enter. Pro and Pro/Am will be more. Still working on details about payouts as outside sponsorship shows up. Admission will be 10 dollars 8 years and under free.

1st Annual Winter Classic

Okay, this is the most up to date info:

Dec. 21 will be the indoor portion of the event. RIDE Academy will conduct a "big bike" school (you ride your own junk, RIDE bikes will be available, check out their web site) Saturday from 8:00am until 3:00pm, at which time the track will be prepped for the first annual TAR HEEL SPEEDWAY WINTER CLASSIC!!!
Gates open at 12:00 for racers
Registration 2:00 pm
Practice 4:00 pm
We will start racing ASAP

The Saturday location is:
CDA&CS Southeastern Farmers Market
1027 U.S. Highway 74 East - Lumberton, North Carolina
http://www.ncagr.gov/MARKETS/facilit...rton/index.htm

This is exit 14 on I-95

Dec. 22 will be the outdoor portion of the event. RIDE Academy students will start the day at Tar Heel Speedway (about 30 miles away) We will get RIDE participants on the track as early as possible for a review time and for acclimation to a larger track.
Gates and registration open at 10:00am for racers
There will be a short worship service at 11:30am
Practice 12:00pm
Racing will get underway ASAP to keep the day from being too long.

The Sunday location will be
Tar Heel Speedway
271 Victory Lane
Tar Heel, NC 28392

From the north this is exit 49 on I-95
From the south this is exit 31 on I-95

We're gonna make this look as much like a SEMDTRA event as possible... That means if you've been legal at SEMDTRA events you'll be legal here. We will run all SEMDTRA classes so there shouldn't be any confusion on what classes to sign up for.

Amateur classes will be $25 each with trophy and gift awards
RIDE Academy participants will receive one free race entry at each race ($50 dollar value)
PRO and PRO/AM pricing is still being worked on as sponsors are still forthcoming.

Follow this event on Tar Heel Speedway Facebook or feel free to call me

This is happening fast! If anyone would like to sponsor the trophies for a class or support in anyway feel free to give me a call or message me here or Tar Heel Speedway facebook page.

We will be "Racing for a Reason" to support TEAM LEAH. Leah is the 7 year old daughter of a friend and co-worker that was diagnosed with Leukemia the week before Thanksgiving. She has been in the hospital ever since. There will be a 50/50 drawing and T-shirts for sale. Follow Leah on her TEAM LEAH facebook page.

Hey,

Rick is having a couple more events at Tar Heel Speedway before the end of the year.

Tar Heel Speedway is just South of Fayetteville NC at the junction of 87 and 20.

Good Google Earth Imagery using: 271 Victory Lane, Tar Heel NC 28395

Indoor race in Lumberton

The "Rumble on the River" is in the books and we saw some great racing! The track was phenomenal and the crowd was good. We have a very loyal group of racers from the NC, SC and VA area. You'll be hard pressed to find a better group of people. We thank everyone that showed up to race, spectate or work.. Or any combination of the three It wouldn't happen without ya'll.

We are excited about running the 2nd Annual Winter Classic! It will start on Dec. 20 at the SE North Caroling Ag Center and will end Sunday Dec. 21 with an outdoor short track race at Tar Heel Speedway.

We'll post Gate and Race times soon.
