Will there be much of a language barrier? I do not know any French, but I do like French Crullers...

How's the Tim Horton situation?? I love that place. When I road to Dead Horse two years ago, the best tip I got .... If your hungry and see a Tim Hortons, stop and eat...

I'll either be here or on the island. Don't imagine I'll ever live outside the province again.

Do you mean understanding Quebecios or Newfies? :lol

Plenty of Timmys in both NFL and Quebec. Tuscan Chicken Panni is quite good or in French Poulet al la Toscane

I found in Quebec that if tried to speak a little French people were very nice and would answer in English most of the time, especially once they found out I was Australian. I really enjoyed Quebec and so far NFL has been fantastic.

Just remember 'Desolé Je ne parle pas Francais' (Sorry I don't speak French)

Very good advice. A little effort goes a long way in Quebec and a few simple phrases will show you're making an effort.

I did 10,000+ miles to Prudhoe Bay and back in 14 days a few years ago, so the miles are not a problem.

Thoughts??

Thanks Smitty

be sure to stop at the Dockside Motel in St Barbe and get the Cod Tongues in their diner. Damn they were good!

Well, thankfully I wasn't there on the bike. That would've been nasty.

Damn, I'm glad we went through there over a week ago. That would have been ugly on a fully loaded Vstrom with Metzeler Tourances.

No black flies though

I just ran the Trans Lab itself including the Quebec component the 9th to the 12th clockwise. In Newfoundland now waiting to see what the Tropical storm will do. Weather was between 28 degrees to 35 degrees F at night and 31 to 50's during the day. I ran through snow briefly but it didn't stick. Ride report to follow. No bugs, no bikes, no bears, great people. Had the road to myself much of the time.

Loks like Tropical Storm Gabrielle is going to be a west coast event. Bit of rain here in St John's but no wind to speak of. If you are on the west coast keep an eye on the Wreckhouse area. They stop heavy truck traffic over there because the funnel blows them off the road. Heed the flashing warning lights.

If I still had every dollar I spent on motorbikes I would be a richer man but a poorer person.

Thanks. Wind is a blow in' for sure. 70 degrees F plus now. Called the Ferry over by St. John's and they are running so I'm head east now from Deer Lake. Heated gear coming off for first time in a week!
