I found the tag...The clue should have said, "Bring your permit to bulldog canyon, or you will be hastled by the local law enforcement..."

Getting to the new tag was definitely an adventure.

Seek the new tag above the lake. Find the blue rock at the highest point and line up weaver's needle.

Go ride 4 peaks road to apache trail. The roads are beautiful and big bike friendly.

Let me know if you are going to do this route, I've done it several times but have not been on my bike for a while, might want to tag a long.
Perfer to ride during the week, too many quads and Utvs on the weekends.

I think I know where this is. If only I had the time to go get it this week!

I found it. It's not as hard as you think JT. I just don't have the time to go out there and get it. I found it with Google Earth using the shape of the lake in that bay below matching the profile of the mountains behind.

Allright, let's get this game moving again!

I had a really cool, hard to find, tag all picked out but after arriving in the general vicinity of it, I rode around for quite some time trying to figure out how to get to it without NO TRESPASSING on STATE TRUST LAND.

I tried down the wash, down two power line roads to no avail. I would not expect anyone else to trespass on STATE TRUST LAND just for a tag.

So, this will be pretty durn easy for some and since I like to see the tag get changed every so often, the clue will be fairly easy as well.

Out here in the west, we've pretty much tamed 'em all but there is still a wild one to be found here and there.

I am glad you got the Tag. Did you come from the South and climb that hill on your KLR, or did you grab it from 4 peaks road? Heading from the South to the top was pretty dang fun.

Funny story there... I came at it from the south. I came up the first little rise and was getting my speed up to tackle the last part when something stung me right on my throat underneath the helmet but above the jacket. Slammed on my brakes, hopped off and did a little undress dance. Never did figure out what it was but it dissipated pretty quickly! I left to the north and then went to the top of 4 peaks and back down. It was a 237 mile day for me.

Nothing beats having a bug in the clothes. I got a bee on my neck heading back from work on Beeline highway. I got to feel the vemon pulse for the next 10 miles.

Ooooh! I just read on the Arizona State Parks site that an OHV sticker enables me to travel on State Trust Land... meaning, I could quite easily get to the tag I was trying to get to. Thing is...
Question JT,
Would it be fair to plant the tag where only those with OHV stickers can go?
I'm thinking no.

Im gradually learning those laws myself. Ive known to carry a hunt license and a .22 pistol with me to "actively hunt " year round rabbit. I didnt realize OHV grants me access until last weekend but also found I dont Have OHV sticker( coulda sworn I did). Just mailed in for the pass but also want the OHV sticker.
All in all: answer to your question----yes I think its fair. We all have drivers licenses with the "M" endorsement.
State trust covers a LARGE area of AZ ,sometimes unlabeled. Theres a free transparent map of land ownership online (i can get the link for whoever wants it).
ADV=Going where others dont often go. Original rules say no private land, dont go joining Men in Black to tag area 51. Be reasonable, but an area that covers so much terrain that cost as little as 15$ a year I think players can handle.

DK until someone else moves the tag you can still go move it to the other location you wanted.
