690 Fuel Maps

I just had my 2013 690 in the local shop to have a new map installed. I am running a Uni dual cone foam air cleaner with a Wings pipe with the largest insert. I asked them to install the Akro map but they said when they did the fuel light was flashing. They ended up putting in the KM765EU12B0262FI map. Is anyone familiar with this map and know what percentage more fuel this lets in? The stock map was KM765US12B0216FI. I have not had a chance to try the bike with the new map yet, Thanks

I believe that is the akro map they installed. The european maps are richer and that's what you have now. Someone will chime in here.

I was looking on tuneecu.com and can not find the map KM765EU12B0262FI that the dealer has installed. Can any KTM techs chime in hear and tell me what map this is!!! The bike runs strong until 5000 rpm but then flattens out and takes a long time to reach redline. It feels like this is a power resisted map. No where near as quick as the stock map. Bike ran great with the stock map but I am concerned it is running to lean!!!

It seems that you are running the 25 kW restricted map.

KM765EU12B0261FI was the 25 kW map for 2012 and KTM usually just changes the last digit for each year (+1).

The correct EVO1 map for your 2013 would be KM765EU12B0233FI.

KM765EU12B0xxx

-233 (2013 EVO1)
-231 (2012 EVO1)

are both usable in 690 models Enduro / SMC 2012 ->

Only difference between 233 and 231 is

233 uses stock 2013 EP map
231 uses stock 2012 EP map

FI map is the same in 233 and 231.

233 is much harder to get. 231 can be downloaded from TUneECU site.

More info in Tune ECU Thread

BTW "last digit +1" does not correlate always; KM765EU12B0232 is EVO2 map for different hardware (camshaft). But yes, I think that 262 is probably a 25kW map.

Sorry for chiming in.

It shouldn't make any difference with the current models since SMC and Enduro are technically the same bike.

I haven't personally used that map but KM765EU12B0233 is what the local dealers upload here for the MY13 bikes.

It's probably the same map as KM765EU12B0231 which is what I'm using on my 2012 w/ Wings and modded airbox. KM765EU12B0231 should be just fine for 2013 models as well.

[Edit: AMa. already clarified the subject while I was getting confused with the numbers. I'd trust him with this subject, he's been tinkering well enough with these maps

I have used both 231 and 233. No noticeable difference.

231 FI is identical to 233 FI. EP in both maps is identical to same year's stock EP maps.

233 EP = 216 EP
231 EP = 215 EP

Edit: Maybe I should go riding for a while...

Thanks for the information. What is the difference between a map ending in FI compared to EP?

Hi Bruce with a finnish last name!

FI map controls fuel injection and ignition according to throttle position or manifold absolute pressure @ given rpm

EP map controls throttle plate according to throttle grip request @ given rpm

I still dare you to read the Tune ECU thread, there is no need to start another one in same (quote narrow) topic.

Thanks AMa for letting me know about the tune ecu link. Very informative. I will get the dealer to install the KM765EU12B0233EP map. Do you know what percentage increase of fuel this map will provide?

EVO1 compared to stock

KM765EU12Bo231 (or 233) compared to stock 2013 map (KM765EU12B0216 (or xxxx202))

Red is richer
Blue is leaner

F

L

In ignition map (I) blue is less advance BTDC. Less is as it shoud be, richer mix means less advance to reach the optimum max combustion pressure.

I

Now I m really confused. Are there 2 maps i need to have the dealer install?

KM765EU12B0233EP and KM765EU12B0233FI ?

Also what do the top 2 lines of the graph mean? Can you convert to English? Sorry to be such a pain but programs and computers are not my thing!!!

What does this mean?
233EP=216EP
231EP=215EP

Thanks, Bruce
