Wtf

I just finished reading and watching all of the report and you guys, Wan included, are all the baddest mother fuckers ever in my book!! So many times I had to walk away from the laptop in complete amazement with my hands on my head or just laugh out loud.

Thank you so much for writing this up for everyone to see. I would not believe it if I did not read it myself.

The most impressive thing is you guys acted like it was just another day on the bike. Bad Asses!!!!!

Thanks

Aganon

Definitely not my choice of words but I celebrate his enthusiasm. The expletives I uttered when going through the many stunts this read provided were not PG rated like the ones Aganon uses.

Kelly your writing skills rival Matt's riding capabilities.

Matt and all, you guys are something else.

Oso creative

So the light/fearing project is coming closer to a finish and I for one love the looks of it

It will have a Plexiglas shield to protect the lights.

So, I used a GoPro for the first time at RollTheBones 4 last weekend(Oct 25-27). First off, it was a great rally and you guys should come next year. Do a celebrity tour; call it a ride report signing.

After watching my footage, I have to admit I was very wrong in some assumptions. I have seen GoPro footage from you and others, and for some of it thought, "That doesn't look too bad, I could manage that". After watching my own footage and knowing what the terrain actually was vs. what I knew I rode, I have seen that I was very wrong. The GoPro degrades the terrain by at least 3 difficulty levels. Which makes me go to know that Schofield, etc, looked insane on the GoPro.

You guys truly are amazing adventure riders.

Hi mtnbikeboy,
Aw, doesn't it suck the way the GoPro flattens things out?
I hate that.

Heh, at least you found out the easy way
(i.e., you didn't discover it as you were looking up at Hell's Gate...)

Thanks for the invite to RTB, it sounds like you had fun!
But, I'm pretty shy. I'm not much for big rallies.

Now that you have your GoPro footage, the hard part is editing it into something watchable...

Ugh. it takes forever!

Hey Justin,
I think we all blew it.
That's probably an icy mud now - I see that Ten Sleep, WY is expecting a high of 37° today, a low of 19° tonight...

heh heh, Thank you aganon!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the RR!

Um, just for future reference, I try and use the more forum-friendly version - "monkey fighter" in these reports
but we definitely appreciate the sentiment!

wait a minute - you thought Aganon used PG rated words?
Holy crap, trespalcios!
I can't even imagine what words you think are R rated!

Anyway, thank you for the kind words, and I'm happy you enjoyed the report!

Hi Beema Killa!

Hey Lica,
it's great to see what you've been up to!

Osooooooo!

We're looking forward to the finished product.
Keep us posted!

Speaking of Lica...

You guys want to see this fun video he sent us?
I think he'll be okay with me posting it...
I miss Lica, so I really enjoyed hearing his voice and enthusiasm.

This is some of the riding that Lica and his friend, Chickensoup, did in the early part of the summer (before the Oso ride).
They're both on orange 990s, but Lica has a black helmet and Chickensoup has a white helmet.

Those other riders were some guys they had found on a trail.

One guy had wrecked pretty hard so Lica hit the 911 button on his SPOT.
Canadian search and rescue came to their aid.

Nice to see that the SPOT works well in BC,
especially if we end up doing an 2014 Oso tour - Canadian style...

990 thottle

I look thru the reports and never have seen any comments on the so called throttle snap on the 990 ADV
Have you guys made any mods for this on your bike or it just don't bother ya..I feather the clutch alot when off road but sure would be nice if it was as smooth as the SE , or carb models..

like the windshield project Lica is doing , this something that will be marketed?

Oh , sure was surprised you knew about the Vols , their kinda struggling now...

love the reports ,can't wait for the next one !

Eh? Yowza, another Loco Oso sighting!

Doesn't he know that Osos only fly when on their 990s?

The G2 throttle with 400 cam makes it like an SE and also the 16/45 sprocket combo makes it better offroad. The headlight project u can buy when it's finished...I'll let you guys know when it's done.
Also I'll start a winter project soon with my old bike....I'll probably start a thread about that soon. I have some ideas how to paint it but I'm open to suggestions anything it doesn't matter how complex it is I can paint it. ( I'd like to keep it Dakar looks)

We knew it had been done on big bikes already by Riceless, and probably many others over the years.
We wanted to try it, just to see if we could do it. That’s kinda the point of all this, isn’t it? See how far you can push your limits.

BRAVO BRAVO

WHYNOWTHEN just brought this Ride Report to my attention (thanks WNT).

All I can say is, I sure do wish I'd had an opportunity to ride with the OSO LOCOS. You guys are a hoot!, talented riders, well prepared and are part of a secret society that know that the LC8 Adventure bikes are the best motorcycles ever.
That being said, I really think that since I did it on a 950 and ya'll were rockin' the Mighty 990s, you have ridden that trail on the biggest bike EVER.

Reckon I'll just have to try it on one of those new 1190s and give it anther go

NOT!!!

Great Ridin' Brothers
