2006 950 Adv, found part in v of Motor, can't find where it goes.

I was at the Post office getting on the bike and I saw this bushing sitting in the v of the motor on the left side.

I pulled off the tank on the left side and found what looked like a missing bolt, after looking at lots of Fishe, it looks like the bolt hole was part of the canister assembly(which Original owner removed).

The hole took a M10 1.5 pitch bolt, but the bolt is too large to go through the bushing, so I installed the bolt to block where a Smog part used to go.

2 Questions?

I guessed that port needs blocked off, thoughts?

Where does that bushing go?

Bike is pretty new to me, I'm 2 oil changes in, still takes me well over an hour and I think I'll order the oil change kit that helps speed up the process(remove less plastic)

I'll post better pics of the bushing later tonight.

Thanks guys

backside of your gas tank, for the hole close to the seat. Just a spacer bushing between the tank and the frame. . . . . lost mine a couple years ago, still haven't replaced them, but putting that stack of washers on every time is getting old. . . .

Edit: and I think that hole is intentionally left unfilled, but I could be wrong, someone already took emissions stuff off my bike before I bought it.

That threaded hole to the left of the bushing is open on all Adv models.

That threaded hole is an alternative engine mount. Other models may use that for mounting the engine. There's another one on the bottom of the engine.

If you don't have this tank mounting bushing in place, then you may over tighten the tank mount and break it. Not cheap.
