Wow I had an XL350R exactly like that that I sold to a guy in PA. I can't imagine taking that thing through the BRT.

Actually, I just told Reuben yesterday that I'd love to do Iron Mountain again now that I'm feeling much more comfortable on the bike. Day two I managed to loosen up the Vulcan death grip I had on the bars and things got better. Also figuring out how to ride standing up helped a lot. Much easier to let the bike dance around under you when you're standing.

When I was young,I was riding a tall Honda CR250 that was set up for motocross.I got bound up in some rocks and couldn't see because the bike was beating me to death. As soon as I learned to stand up and stay loose,it was a whole different ride.I could blast through there like it was flat ground.

Crazy!

Absolutely incredible RR, loved the video, and I just couldn't imagine riding those trails in the winter! That is crazy as hell. Grew up in terrain like that (WV)and can tell you that it is the most challenging areas to ride, way more challenging than anything I have ridden out West. The leaves from all the trees makes for some incredibly slick riding when wet. I still like it out here in the vast West expanse more though. Awesome RR, thanx for posting

Talking

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I finally got the Day 2 video strung together. This day proved to be about surviving insane mud bogs, along with some high speed gravel fun

Enjoy!

Very nice ride report, Reuben! Makes me want to run out and purchase a dual sport bike.

Great Videos Roo!

You guys are making me jealous! This whole having to work for a living thing sucks!

And you are way braver than me trying to keep up with Matt!
