76 Kawasaki KE175 Question

On the front lower part of the crankcase is some type of vent mechanism. When I start the bike some oil and gas puke out the plastic tube running the skid plate.

Is this normal? Yesterday when I started it a quite a bit came out, smelled mostly of gasoline.

It is a rotary valve engine. The carb is inside the engine case. It is probably the carb vent tubes telling you there is a carb issue.
