Looking forward to the event!

Unfortunately this meeting is cancelled

Spoke with Dazzer today and he asked to pass on the following message (as he currently is internetless):

Dazzer and Craig had hoped to return to the UK on the 7th of November in time for this event. However their ferry does not get them back into the UK til the 11th. Unfortunately this meeting is cancelled.

Are you serious or is this a joke? We booked the ferry and all!

If the meeting is cancelled, can at least the campsite location and the tracks be released?

Yeez...

Don't shoot the messenger.

This is not a joke.

Dazzer also advertised this at http://www.adventurebikerider.com/fo...ales-area.html

It seems some of the participants are now organising their own event: http://adventurebikerider.com/forum/...er.html#267996

Is your ferry arriving at Hull? I'm based near Bradford, West Yorkshire. I'm not sure what I'm doing that weekend now (I was attending and leading a road ride...), but if I'm free I can show you the paved lanes/roads in the The Yorkshire Dales National Park on my road bike (basically the entire area between my house and Takoda Camping in Kirkby Stephen). I rarely trailride the unmade roads in the Dales any more because the National Park authorities have closed most things and I can't be bothered to ride 100 miles on my dirtbike to ride 5 miles of dirt.

Can't promise I'll be available, but if I'm free, we could make a plan. Feel free to contact me just before you arrive in the UK.

Hi Chris. We'll be taking the IJmuiden-Newcastle ferry so will be arriving from the NE. But thanks for the offer!

We have all day to get from the ferry to the campsite, any suggestions for a detour?

From Newcastle you could head for Richmond and then to Tan Hill (highest pub in England) and Hawes to Kirkby Stephen. Also consider heading for Alston and then over the Hartside Pass on the A686.

You could go via the Yorkshire moors. It's not exactly a direct route, but you have all day, and they are good roads :)

Thanks both for the advice, depending on the weather we'll turn it into a nice riding day.

Hello! You'll be made more than welcome at the ABR event - the campsite is owned by a biker & the facilities are great! :)

So far there are 3 rides out - 1 trail ride suitable for big bikes. But there are also plenty of small lanes to explore and the Lake District is just a few miles away. There's an optional cooked meal on Saturday night (proceeds go to charity) & a bonfire to keep warm too.
I'm sure you'll have a great time

If you haven't already, I would join the ABR forum & add yourself to the event so you'll see all the updates. My name is Elle on the forum - see you there!
