I am sorry Seabee. I will stay on topic. Dude the Rim Road is a fantastic ride. Much scenery and well maintained. But it is best enjoyed in one of these.
That's all I am sayin

the deed is done and we had a great ride. The road is in excellent condition. No ruts or bad spots at all. I think the rain was just enough to keep the dust down. and while it certainly would fun in that monster, I think a regular Miata would get the job done

BUT NO ONE WARNED ME ABOUT THIS LITTLE ROAD HAZARD!!!!!

j/k was a great ride. thanks for the information

Glad you had a good time! I was stationed in Anniston for the longest 16 weeks of my life. I hope the mosquitoes up in Decatur aren't the size of a Miata. The ones down at Ft McMuffin you can ride on! If you have any more time to ride near that area I suggest going up the old Apache trail then to Young, AZ. Stop at Antlers for some food and come back via the Salt River Canyon. That is a real long day but a beautiful ride.

I was on it yesterday. I timed it to be at the rim section right at sunset (that was just plain magical). It was awesome. The trail or road is currently perfect but watch out for elk. They are everywhere and don't exactly rush to get out of your way.

Great to hear the road has been fixed up. How much did you ride - from where to where?
