I guess it really isn't an adventure until you scare the shit out of yourself.

All the riding I did with you in the sand really helped me out during that night of sand wash hill climbs. Thx man.

Been sitting on a balcony this morning watching a shepherd tend to his sheep. The dogs are amazing with the commands he is giving them. Guess I should pack up and hit the road. Heading over to Wyoming then up and over to Idaho.

Turns out it ain't easy leaving the Beaver Creek Lodge

They offered me a room half off. They are just really good people with an awesome set up. I'm going horseback riding tomorrow in the mountains. I haven't ridden a horse since I was 10

Having the day to kill, I went for a little ride with a light load. The owner of the lodge has grown up around here and has been riding and leading horse tours, since his young teens. He pointed me in the right direction on a map and I ran with it. Was pretty cool crossing the border from Utah to Idaho just on trails.

Not sure what the trees are called with the psychedelic orange leaves, but I really like 'em.

Forgot to add the video of the same trees )

Dude.

When you get to Idaho Falls, I can help.
Food, tent space, beer, and a garage.

In the desert, you can smell when rain is coming...

Epic Ride Report.
I've been to those places.
This is not back EAST anymore.

Come...
Relax and recuperate.

Thanks a bunch for the offer Questor, I may take you up on the tent space. I've kinda blown my budget with my extended stay at this lodge. I hope to be in the Idaho Falls area in a day or two. Most likely two, but who knows. I keep getting sidetracked in really fun ways.

I never responded to you guys either. Thanks, it's nice to have others chime in besides family and friends. Alot of the reason why this trip is even possible is because of this site.

And of course last but not least, Mr. Byways. Thanks for the heads up for the tire connection.

There may be other ADVriders doing the "Forever West" route here this weekend.
Can you say party?

Come on.
It's cool.

Just made it to Idaho Falls.

Will have an update soon. Had a bit of an incident an hr ago. Have spent two days straight on gravel, dirt, etc. I hit pavement, made a right then a quick left and whamo I'm sliding down the road towards a truck. I guess I hit some random gravel on a pavement rd. bike is ok as far as I can tell. Pressure suit and knee/ shin guards did their job. Ripped the shit out of my latitude jacket though and broke my gopro.

All things considered I was lucky. As I'm sliding towards the Spanish fellow in his pickup, the only thing he could think of doing is blowing his horn at me. I get up and he gives me a look like 'hey asshole'. So I pointed towards the gravel and said, 'dude I hit gravel, don't worry I'm fine".

I did Dave. The snakebite was really good.

Thx for stopping. Good luck w the new bike, that baby looked brand new. You really lucked out on that buy.

Made it to Questors place, what a great host & awesome guy.

I have few days to catch up on, not sure when that is going to happen though, to busy riding. With all my side excursions, I'm running out of days.

One of these days

Sounds like Byways may have you heading into the Medicine Lodge area of Mtif not, you may want to check that area out on your way north as it is a very nice ride. Enjoy!

The route isn't incredibly difficult until you add in Mother Nature. Then it can be a entire different bag.

I will update soon kinda hard right now though. I ended up meeting 5 people at Questors who were going the same direction as me on the heart of the west. They move at a very brisk pace. I barely have time for a smoke break, much less an update.

Questor, once again thank you very much for your hospitality. You're a good dude.

Hey Casey!! Just wanted to let you know we are thinking of you and our weekends here have not been the same since you left. I am anxiously awaiting your next update!! I am glad that you are having such a good time, even with your little accident. All that training you did all those weekends with Joe really seem like they helped. Enjoy yourself and come home in one piece. Can't wait to hear in person all the awesome things you did and saw. Talk to you again soon.

Thx for the kind words mrs dirt.

I just got done with the California trail/parting of the ways. Really enjoyed it.

Looks like I have about 3 days left if I don't get sidetracked. I'm thinking now that I will wait till I'm back in boulder to update and finish this report, unless I get a room tonight.

Props to the people who stay on top of a live rr, it is not easy.

Took this an hr ago, I'm being chased by a storm. Rain and snow, gotta love the west
