Remus 2-1 install question

So I was able to remove everything and was expecting to just slide the mid-pipe on. No such luck, looks like the header that comes out of the back of the engine had some sort of wrap/gunk on it. Did everyone else have this? How did you remove it?

are you referring to the round gaskets? you need to remove those, then fit the remus 2-1 pipe.

I don't think it's really plastic, as i pick at it, it flakes away.

it is not plastic, it is metal with graphite impregnated in it. they were expensive, so i saved mine by hooking it with a pick and pulling it out.

if not, stick a flat screwdriver in between it and the head pipe and pry it out.

Carefully remove the mid-pipe insulation

It will come off. I used a large flat-bladed screwdriver.
Then the Remus Ti pipe slips on nicely. I think I used a short section of 2X4 to gently tape the pipe on.

Love the Remus Ti 2-1.
