Great pics, we were in Iceland in 2010 and seeing your pics brings back great memories, we did pretty much the same circuit.

Great ride report and spectacular scenery!

My wife was just asking where I plan to ride next year and I think I have my answer.

Nice job with the photography also.

Cheers,

.

Thanks for all of the cool comments about the pics; I was trying out a new lens and I'm quite impressed.

Thank you for a simple but insightful (terrain) report....

I also used to shop at your uncle's shop in Port Moody (30 years ago ).

Absolutely cracking! I'm looking at going next year. Did you cane it round the island as you only had a week or was it steady away?

You can do big miles on the ring as it's decent road, light traffic and there's lots of daylight but we took it very steady:

Day 1; Seyisfj÷rur via Dettifoss to ReykjahlÝ - 159 miles (28 off tarmac)
Day 2; ReykjahlÝ via Akureyri to VarmahlÝ - 125 miles
Day 3; VarmahlÝ via the Kjalvegur to ┴rnes - 157 miles (104 off tarmac)
Day 4; ┴rnes via Hßifoss and the Fjallabakslei to Hvolsv÷llur - 134 miles (50 miles off tarmac)
Day 5; Hvolsv÷llur to H÷fn - 220 miles
Day 6; H÷fn via SnŠfell to Hallormsstaur - 223 miles (12 off tarmac)
Day 7; Hallormsstaur via the HlÝarvegur to Egilsstair - 165 miles (50 off tarmac)
Day 8; Egilsstair to Seyisfj÷rur - 17 miles

Great pics!

I've heard it's one of the most expensive countries in the world to visit...

But it may be worth it!
