How much of VR's problems are because while he was elsewhere (actually nowhere on the Duc) Yamaha has further developed the M1 for JLo's riding style?

BTW, is the infamous wall still in the Yamaha garage? Bet not.

Just my personal guess, but it seems to me that Jorge has become a better rider while VR is sort of where he was in 2010. Even Dani improved once cs27 showed up in his pitbox. I think VR will improve the balance of the season, but probably not enough to take many points from the top 3. Vernon Wells can still hit home runs, but not as often as he once could. That is part of being 34 years old.

Oh no doubt the racing has been fantastic! The Silverstone ending was phenomenal. I've got all the MotoGP races saved on my DVR for viewing when the season is over and that one is PROTECTED so it doesn't get over-written by an episode of Bubble Guppies or the NBC Nightly News or such. I'd just like to see some other riders up there at the front duking it out as well, swap it up a little like they do in Moto2.

Yeah, I hope Rossi can do something good at home. He's one hell of a rider and I'm glad he's back on a competitive bike. Wonder what he could do on one of the Repsol Hondas?? He likes it fast and loose too.

TV is so 1999.

Lorenzo was not puzzled on how to beat MM at Silverstone.

JLo is now complaining that the bike needs to be better on the brakes, too. That is Rossi's #1 complaint with the bike. And was Spies' complaint before him.

There wouldn't be any problem with the Yamaha if the Honda had not improved. I would say Stoner and Nakamoto were big parts of moving the Honda forward.

The retirement of Furusawa at Yamaha seems to have had a negative impact.

"Pedrosa gives it a valiant effort but it looks like he just has a tiny bit bigger fear factor of pushing it over the edge". Back when I was racing with REAL men on REAL bikes, there was a dopey looking guy named Rollie Fallon in AMA CCS and WERA. Skinny kid with lotsa hair, and wore speedos under his grimy over-used leathers. He belonged to a group of guys called 'Team Scream', and they ran RD350 and RD400. Eveyone of them bastids was fast. Anyway, I used to chase Rollie all the time. One weekend at Savannah, I followed him for an entire race because I was convinced he was going to crash any second and didn't want to be the second bike on the scene, if you know what I mean. That bike was wobbling all over the place. Turned out he had a bad rear wheel bearing. Much to my utter disbelief, I finished behind him. They fixed the bearing for the next day, but the bike was still all over the place. Same scenario: follow him, waiting for the crash so I could notify his next of kin what actually happened. Bad swing arm bearings, I think, or maybe a loose axle. Anyway - I finished behind him again.
Maybe Pedrosa believes he doesn't have to beat MM, because MM won't be around for the end of the season. After all: you (usually) beat everyone who crashes out.

It's entirely possible that that's part of the reason for Rossi struggling. However, Rossi and Burgess say that they don't like the current Bridgestone tyre, which doesn't have the super-stiff carcass of the old design that Rossi favored, which has led to set-up problems so that Rossi can brake like he wants to.

Could be interesting. Maybe everything comes together and 2 Yammies get on the podium or the complete opposite ie: high-sides and holes in crankcases.

Cal has to buy his own brakes and seamless gearboxes.

Yamaha spec seamless gearboxes are 30% off at bikebandit.com right now, Cal should jump on that deal.
