In order to adjust the ride height, do I need to dismount the lower shock eyelet?

Two-way adjustable Adventure shock mounted on an '09 F800gs. I moved the remote reservoir to the passenger foot peg to leave some room for the spanner wrench. I will probably add the hydraulic pre-load adjuster next year.
