We are going thru a similar thing with our son at the moment who came off his bike on the 15th of September and fractured both of his arms, collarbone and little finger joint to his hand.

Thankfully our son was airlifted to the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne which is a major road trauma hospital after talk of sending him to a local country hospital then deciding that his injuries were too severe. The care there has been fantastic despite the nurses being run off of their feet.

Matt is going in for more surgery on his hand tomorrow as he sustained a wound after his glove came off on the side of his hand near the fracture and the surgeons were concerned about infection going to his bone. They could not operate on it at the same time that they plated all of his other fractures last Monday. Boy does he have some massive scars, poor little bugger.

I truly feel for you as we know how you and your family must be feeling. The frustration and the unknowing are terrible.

Matt, like yourself is frustrated, tired and gets emotional worrying about his future with his injuries. Also trying to deal with the pain is another issue.

Keep your chin up, with the right treatment and surgeons your leg may be okay. Just do all of the rehab that the therapists advise.

The RBH couldn't have looked after me any better last year after my accident.

There was nothing said about being a bike rider other than when are you going to get back on again.

Things will get better Gav, leave the dog tied up at Nambour.

G'Day Gav, you'll come out of this OK, you've got some good Karma in the bank, you helped me no end in Birdsville the other month, what goes round comes round.

Went out on the weekend, rode out to the centre of NSW with a couple of mates, bumped into Fati in Tottenham, he was at a rally up there, we didn't go to the rally though, not really our thing.

longest post I have ever done in a record time of 1.5 hrs!!

I was just giving you the rude finger chop chop
When are you brining me my next burger?

There has been a change of plans, the father in law has actually been a total gem,he drove down from Brisbane to meet with me today.

He could get me in straight away in brissy with a couple of good surgeons to choose from,

I chose to stay at Nambour, i can get operated on Friday with these guys, if I went to Brisbane they would not be able to operate till then any way because of the swelling. the thing is 80% of the surgeons are going on holidays and the ones working will be flat out so therefore I can't be assured of an exact date for the major operation if I change hospitals

The sooner this gets done the better

Things have improved ten fold over the last little bit.
I spoke to my gp today and he said the surgeon is new, has a great CV and has heard of no complaints.

Better the devil you know

Closer to home and work for rehab

Luke can bring his mates in with the x box play with the buttons on the chair

we are getting away with blue murder, in hear we laugh so much they might put us in padded rooms, when I say we, I mean

:Rob 42 years old Skate board. damage:broken arm and leg

:Cath 69 years fell on way to get paper. damage: broken arm,hip and leg damage from drugs in hospital? on't even go there she is a golden treasure.
she recites poetry to us at bed time

:Hazel 78 years had a fall did pelvis and more.hubby was on the bikes in ww2
One of the training requirements was to ride at a trucks side and bin your bike on its side and slide under the truck!!!!

After we brought up a few incidents with the senior nurses the response was satisfactory so I have decided to stay.

Do drop in
