It is so reassuring to see old friends from RTR with nearly similar handles on this site. The suggestion that we use this as a backup with its own 'sticky' is a great idea, but hopefully only necessary for a brief time.

Coolhand has a brother who lives in Stephenville as I recall. He was kind enough to put me up the night I caught the ferry after the Soiree a couple of years ago. I'm sure he is aware of the problem and doing what he can to rectify it. Bad me---I can't remember his name or RTR handle.

It really SUX that the only way we have (had) to communicate was through the RTR site. I have only one or two email addresses because I relied upon the private message feature on RTR. Hopefully Coolhand will be able to restore the site and recover all of what used to be there.

For the RTR inmates: here's an "ATTABOY" for Murph for offering up his sister as a contact for my ride to Yellowknife this summer. RTR inmates are a cut above! (As are ADV inmates)

Just maybe a moderator will take pity on us and start a sticky...

I think it may be Duffman (Andrew IIRC) that you are thinking of. He hasn't been active here in a while.

Duffman has a house, two jobs and a new baby. His recreation time is pretty limited.
I lost a lot of contacts I had made on RTR as well.

If I still had every dollar I spent on motorbikes I would be a richer man but a poorer person.

Just a reminder that the Rideatlantic site has a lot of familiar faces.... We've even got a lighthouse trophy thread going now!

My personal thanks to Coolhand and his former mods for all the hard efforts. It was a pleasure to get to know a lot of the members over the past few years.
Is this the 'offcial' obit for RTR?

Fall on the West Coast

I bow to your West Coast knowledge.
My experience on your side of the island is obviously inadequate but I hope to fix that in the future.
