That's why I figure those guys in the pics must be actual members. Poseurs in that part of SoCal would not last long.

I could be wrong but I don't think even the rankest noob on the planet would be dumb enough to fly even a remote facsimile of HA colors.

They employ some interesting methods of removing tattoos, I would imagine the torch would work on a set of rags as well.

Never heard of anyone wearing the 81 colors who was not a memeber, maybe a supporter patch but never a poser can't see that happening. It's wierd that a HA is even on a bike thats not a Harley, unless that bike is American made.

Hmmmmm.......I don't think you would catch too many of them on sporty's. 1%er's (and about everybody else) consider sportsters, womens bikes.

They might have been covering their faces because they were poseurs, and wearing a patch you didn't earn can bring BIG trouble.

My uncle is afiliated and he claims that true HA love all motorcycles in general. They'd rather ride a little Honda Trail 90 than drive a car.

Based on what I've learned the past week (about gear, logos, etc) these guys were legit 81's. And they were riding new-ish custom sporty's. Couldn't tell age, but based on build and riding attitude, they were younger guys.

I'm pretty sure Sonny Barger rides a Victory now and this is supposed to be what he has said about BMW and Honda's.

"It's always been important for Hell's Angels to ride American-made machines. In terms of pure workmanship, personally I don't like Harleys. I ride them because I'm in the club, and that's the image, but if I could I would seriously consider riding a Honda ST1100 or a BMW. We really missed the boat not switching over to the Japanese models when they began building bigger bikes. I'll usually say, "F*** Harley-Davidson. You can buy an ST1100 and the motherf***** will do 110 miles per hour right from the factory all day long ... While it's probably too late to switch over now, it would have been a nice move because Japanese bikes today are so much cheaper and better built. However, Japanese motorcycles don't have as much personality."

The guy in shorts ,tennys and wearing the colorful helmet is on an American bike. It's a Buell CR1125 powered by an Austrian built Rotax V-twin.
As far as Sportsters go, it was sonny Bargers choice in his earlier days, ans a lot of other guys as well.
