Bli 55: I like the road number of F-35 in Iceland. It's not as difficult as might be some of the F-roads and on the way there is no water crossings. Some people might think the scenery is too rocky you and the landscape is all the time same, You should, however, go to small "secondary roads" along F 35. But personally for me road F 26 was one of the biggest experience.

Esa505 I visited in Reykjavik Motocenter and in BikingViking. They works in the same building. I can really recommend them. If you need some service or parts to your bike they really help.

Beautiful pictures. I'm glad you made it to the Westfjords! Thanks for the report. When were you there? Im guessing June or July from the light. I was in Reykjavk in February and the weather was so nice (above 10 C and sunny every day,) that I hated to come back to Canada!

I will be in Finland next June for the FIM rally. Will you be there?

Awesome pics! I have returned from Finland riding via Sweden and Norway. From Helsinki to Stockholm to Norway via Vaasa back to Helsinki. Iceland seems to be next then after seeing all your nice pics.

WOW! Great photography and report. Iceland had not been on my radar as places to explore, but your report has me thinking. Looks like an adventure bikers paradise! Fairly decent roads, great scenery and little to no traffic. Great!

Keep on ridin'!

Iceland brings back memories

I was there for three weeks a while back. It is a beautiful country. What I mostly remember is the fact that I was never warm the entire time I was there. I ended up wearing every piece of clothing I had with me. I was camping and spent virtually all of the time I wasn't traveling in my tent surrounded by my sleeping bag trying to get away from the god awful chill and the perpetual winds.

The prices were so high there that it made me realize what it felt like to be from a third world country. Many years ago a take out diner at a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant cost that same as a meal at very high end french restaurant in the US. Beer and alcohol were similarly high priced. The only moderately priced food in markets seemed to be canned fish balls.

My experience in Iceland made me decide that all future vacations would be to areas were it was warm and sunny.

I was in Iceland on August. For me it was like heaven of ADV-riding. Maybe Ill go back next summer. I camped all nights. Price of fuel is same than in Europe and Finland. I often ate in good local fish restaurant and prices were not higher than in Finland. Good dinner and few beer maybe 30 euros. Its true that there is often cold. Sometimes I felt that Im Michelin Man with all clothes. But there is good warm swimming pools and hot pots :))

I enjoyed this. Thanks. I'm of Norwegian heritage and deeply wish to visit both Norway and Iceland.

From Reykjavik I headed to East Coast and I just followed main road number 1. Landscapes were all the time spectacular and amazing. No words to descripe them ....

Iceland is awesome, thanks for those pictures, they are beautiful.

My trip to Iceland was canceled couple of years ago, but I still hope I'm gonna get there someday.
