About that gas cap...

I modified a tank bag, cut off the magnets, added some straps:

Loop goes around the gas cap: (Doesn't work well with breather tube, but I don't have one)

Result! Quick disconnect tank bag, without faffing about with straps that need to go around inaccessible bits and without a baseplate.

I use Aerostich Tank Panniers on my GSPD and am quite pleased with the results. Excellent build quality, good capacity and the bonus of leg protection in cool or wet weather.

Yeah they appear to be a really nice piece of kit, just a shame they're not available outside the US.

I just made some side bags myself, from a $20 horse saddlebag. :-)

Portable light mast. :-)

It telescopes up to 4m high, and it's got a 10W LED on the top. For special occasions, when a head lamp just won't do...

I use the wolf-man Rainer tank bag, no problem with access to the fuel cap and its tough, fits nicely on the sloping tank too.
I didn't notice scuffing on the tank but I don't really care if it does. http://www.aerostich.com/bags/seat-b...n-rainier.html
