I wonder if having 24 hours between race one and two will help or confuse the teams?

I'm curious to know how the WSBK Pirelli differs from the AMA Dunlop.

Ask Rog or 'Slick. Both are about where they were in FP1 for AMA SBK in July.

After three seasons on Dunlop Euro DOT racing tires, #2 son got a deal with Pirelli. It was a hard transition and required a very different set-up. But that was mainly because nobody had any experience with the tire. In the end a former Piralli racer gave us his settings from an older R6. Presto. We eventually refined it but it cost a few race weekends. His lap times came, though, and he ran with the Dunlop contract riders. Club racing of course.

The tire is very squishy and gives the new Pirelli rider the feeling that the front is slipping at first. But with enough laps he learned the front would stick and gave a fair warning before it really let go. I'd say it was just unsettling. Maybe a little slower in the point and shoot tracks.

I have never run AMA Spec slicks, but in general, Dunlops are stiffer and heavier. Both brands are very confidence inspiring with grip and predictability. The last set of Pirellis I ran made me feel like a hero.

Wow what dramas for race 1. Two red flags but the final 12 lap race was simply fantastic!!
