I called my mom to get the address, well she remembers everything but that one. Hell, she remembers her street address in Texas from 1953!! I'm researching, will pm you if we find it.

I do know it was on the air base and I'm not sure if there is open access. My dad flew float planes (Dehavilland's sp?) and helicopters out of there in the late 50's/early 60's. Some of the best flying he ever experienced.

This is on my list for next year, but I'm going after black fly season....

Looking forward to more pics.

Hmmm. Interesting thought.

We need to meet up. Most times I head your way I've got wife, three dogs, truck and utility trailer in tow. Seems inappropriate to show up in a truck to see a fellow rider.

I'll work on a ride up soon.

What damac said

is probably pretty close!

From my days in upstate NY, July and into early August was the worst of it.

Black Fly Season?

I'm connected remotely right now, but I can tell you that we didn't have a single black fly bother us the entire time. Hundreds were flying, but none were biting. Go figure. The locals said it was because it had been so dry up there this year. I think we lucked out. Only 2 days of rain and no bugs. It was purd'near perfect. We had heard horror stories about them, but they didn't come true.

I'll be home later Saturday night so will finish posting the 300+ more pictures on Sunday. I appreciate everyone's patience and hope no-one has burned down my house while I've been gone.
