Fuel economy should be improved with the seamless gearbox, which should also give them more power at the end of the race because of less fuel cut.

Quite the sight watching those Moto2 bikes around that last corner.

Must be a bit disconcerting to the MotoGP boys to see Marquez at the pointy end of the first two practices. Ominous for them, considering other events this year when he has done that.

Great to see some women out there mixing it up in the world championship arena!

Nakagami fast again. I really think this guy has some serious talent and he'd be better off sticking around in moto2 for another year to gain some experience/consistency instead of heading to motogp where he won't get any experience of the pressures of running at the front. Hopefully he can manage well enough on the production bike to where he is a candidate for the Tech3 machine in 2015. I think it would be great to have a Japanese rider battling for podiums.

^^^

The guy should be a champ. Plus he's got a great sense for the history of the sport he is excelling at. Give him another year in Moto2 and he'll be the rider everybody wants in MotoGP.

Rossi back at the pointy end

Quickest in FP3!!!!

But it was raining, so Marquez, Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Bradl and Crutchlow sat out the session.

If it is raining tomorrow, maybe VR had a better chance at setting up the bike.

A rain race would make for fun stuff.

After the qualifying session I think that we don't really need the rain to see fun stuff...

Marquez - but it's tight

Great qualifying, none of the top four can be unhappy (well, maybe Pedrosa), and Bradl did pretty good too.

Rossi half a tenth off Lorenzo, a tenth and a half off Marquez and on par with Pedrosa. Looks like he made good use of that wet session.

This could be a very good race. And the weight of expectation has probably shifted to Marquez.

Nice to see Rossi right there.

Not nice to watch Pedrosa pick his nose and wipe it all over his face
