Recompence 2013: Fifth Edition - Last New England Campout

Yeah. It's been five years already.

Ok. This seemed to work the last four times so we'll cut and paste it once more.

What: Motorcycle campout

When: The weekend of October 25-27, 2013 Still plenty of time for those of you blessed with the little gremlins to make plans to be back Sunday night and take care of business. Go on. Get creative.

Where: Recompence Shore Campground, Freeport, Me.

How: Farm rules – you want it there, you bring it.

To paraphrase mutineer in the BYOB thread of years ago...

No band. No meal. No maps/route sheets. No organized rides. No stickers. (I do however have a roll of duct tape and a Sharpie I could improvise with if that's a deal breaker.)

Anyhoos...

This is about hanging with your moto-buddies, riding motorcycles - no matter what they are - and meeting back at camp at the end of the day to tell lies over a few refreshments.

If that ain't enough, stay home. You won't have any fun.

You are responsible for your own good time and safety.

Curious as to what to expect? Check out these links: 2012 2011 2010 2009

Hope to see you there!

***Check-in Information***
  • No need to check in at the office BUT...
  • We are in the Middle Bay area. See map for details.
  • Site 104 is the fire pit site. Camp there if you want lots of company.
  • Cost? Whatever the total is divided by the number of attendees. (The second night of camping is 'free' with payment for the first night) Regardless, it's been pretty nominal in the past. Kripes, even Kevin hasn't complained.
  • Wood is by the bundle. I'll have them start us off with a pile and we'll go from there if we need more.

If yer interested, please raise your hand.

Seriously though, we are just about to put our house on the market so if I am not knee deep in packing/moving, I'll be there. Or not.

In!

In for Buck's on Friday too.

Since that weekend isn't opening weekend of Maine deer season, we can ride in the woods

Anyone else interested in bringing little bikes? It looks like the trails in Topsham are the closest. I've never ridden there, so I'm curious to hear from anyone who has. Or if there's interest we could head over to Jugtown Forest in Casco or further south to Hollis.
