Inspiration

BigDog & Friends,
Man you guys are truely my inspiration for adventure Riding. I've been following your post for a quite some time now and find it hard to tear myself away from posts. After following along on some of your adventures, I had decided to prep and head out on an adventure of my own. Sadly, not to long before I was ready to head out, I was rear-ended by a Toyota sedan (teen aged girl texting) while I was stopped at a red light. My trusty steed was ruint and after a several day visit to the hospital, was told my long days in the saddle were probably over (I guess I was kind of ruint too). I've since worked hard to get myself back in good riding shape but have failed to resurrect my trusty steed. I did, however (more like talked into by my wife), aquire a CanAm side by side. I've been showing her your adventures and she's now in love with the idea of seeing what a real adventure is (hence the side by side).
I'm getting ready for another tour in Afghanistan (not the adventure I had in mind) but will be checking ADV Rider as often as I can just to see what kind of mischief ya'll have been up to. Hopefully I'll be able to get out on the trail when I get back (with or without my better half) and start living my adventure riding dreams. And maybe....with a little luck....I just might run across a few of my Adventure Riding Hero's!
Thanks again for sharing your adventures with us all.

You're keeping my dreams alive!

Another thanks for the great ride report, and tracks. I am planning on riding a similar route on the BDR's sometime next summer. I also have a WRR setup for adventure rides though no where near 50k miles....

Did you choose September to avoid the heat? The rains were a little atypical, would you still that time of year?

Guys
Its not easy to do these ride reports but this one has been absolutely fantastic from start to finish. And I have been reading and hanging on for the next installment from the start to the finish!
Thank you.
Lloyd.

Anything new and interesting that you can pass along to us?

Thanks for another great ride report!

Mark,

Glad to see that you liked the "3 Step Hideaway" logo - "BigDog Version".

If I remember correctly, my creative collaboration agreement with Dingweeds is that for each time the 3 Step logo, (or variation thereof) is printed, published, or posted on the internet, I get a free supply of Julie's wonderful homemade Brownies! Mmmm!

I'm not sure if Scott has let Julie know about that, but I'm pretty sure that was the arrangement...ha!

Anyway, another great ride report by all you guys!

Ride Safe,

Taz9

If you guys were to immediately take off again for somewhere scenic and continue with a ride report like this one, more than a few inmates here would not be disappointed.
