Thanks for following our RR and I know I can speak for all of us.. nothing we do is heroic, but if you are heading to Afghanistan.. thats there's a real hero in my eyes!!

My prayers are with you and look forward to reading a RR of your own one day!

Take care!

Lots of vids posted here on Advrider, but that is one of the best ever!
Love all the different view angles mixed in with the still shots, and the music was perfect for the type of ride you were doing. I am originally from Tejas and it's good to see some fellow Texicans enjoying the great Southwest. Keep me posted if you come back out in the Spring and maybe we can hook up for some riding. I have been out here for 23 years and know lots of great areas to explore. Would be glad to show you around. You would love the riding available out in the 3 Steps Hideaway area.

Ride Safe,

GoPro remote

Nice video Bill, thanks for doing that. Was wondering about your remote for the Hero 2, specifically what kind it is and your impressions of the usefulness and how well it works? I missed many videos on this past summer's trip thinking the GoPro was on when it wasn't, and would consider a remote. Honestly, I didn't even know there was one for a Hero2. Thanks

CamelBill... yea you can get the Wifi BacPac for the Hero2 and it comes with the remote and wifi pac that you put on your Hero2. Once you do that you also put on a different door on your GoPro case so the BacPac fits in the case.

On mine and BigDogs Pucky Huddle Ride, I ran my remote that I had strapped to my bars. The system works very good, no problems with functionality.. you just have to keep an eye on your remote AND Wifi BacPac battery life. For the remote, I left the USB cable in it and every once in a while, I'd plug it in to the bike to charge, but the Wifi BacPac is a different story.. I really couldn't charge it until night... by the end of a day, I'd be back to the manual buttons. But it really depends on if you leave the Wifi BacPac on all day, it stays on all the time, it doesn't turn off with the GoPro. Thats by design because you can turn the camera on and off by the remote, which is neat. I just haven't been able to keep the batteries good for an all day ride.

All that said, I would recommend picking up the Wifi BacPac, its so handy! I have the Wifi, Battery and LCD BacPac... and remember with the Wifi Pac on you can also control the GoPro with your phone.. and thats sweet!

You will need to make sure you upgrade to the latest firmware with these Bacs too...

Good luck!!!
