I always get so stoked when there's a new update from you.

Can't wait to hear about Botswana!

Sandbox Ride

Since moving away from the coast, is sand still an issue or does the roadway improve?

Already miss the surf reports.

I'm so jealous of your supertubes report. When I was there a few months ago on my african bike adventure I caught a big swell (8-12+) but the winds were gnarly onshore and it was super short period/consistent so nobody was even trying to get out. I had to anyway and failed all three times I tried to get out and I'm in pretty good paddling shape. Just huge closed out walls.

I am SO FREAKING JEALOUS!! I've surfed pavones and a lot of central and south american breaks in CR, Panama, Peru, Brazil etc.. and hitting jbay good was a dream of mine. Was still just one of the bucket list waves you have to paddle out in no matter what the conditions are.

Here is a pic of how it was when I was there. Not quite the same. lol

I'm leaving for another 8 month trip that mirrors yours but without the bike. Fiji, Tahiti, Samoa, Cook Islands, 3 weeks in NZ and 6 months in Aus. Take down a bunch of the bucket listers like Snappers, Kirra, Bells, Cloudbreak, Margarets River, Teahpoo etc...etc... (only if it's small. like under 12. lol! Screw that place. Soooo heavy)

I don't know where I'll blog it, no moto, but I'll drop you a line since I know you'll appreciate the break reports.

AWESOME RIDE REPORT!! Best one I've read yet

Sad about the board, though. Is there really so little decent surf on the east coast that it's not worth keeping, or are you being forced inward for another reason?
It's just Tanzania and Kenya left, since I'm not keen on riding around in Somalia. The middle part of Mozambique is full of fighting at the moment and a no-go zone. Think I'll have access to a board on Zanzibar island in Tanzania, so I'm stoked

Kasetinty School

Hey folks, just an update on the Kakonso well project that many of you donated to. If you recall I mentioned that Coco got a bunch of the money back from the drilling company for the failed drilling attempts He has put that money towards building a new school in a neighboring village called Kasetinty that I also visited while I was riding around up there with him. Check it out:

So, this is what your dollars are now up to, thanks to Coco's ingenuity and local sweat. Very stoked to see this happening

It's amazing how far that money goes when put in the right hands! No bureaucratic bull shit to deal with or having to pay high administrative salaries.

Yeah! Letting things go isn't necessarily part of our [Western mentality] nature- yet doing so always opens the door for things to come.
Cool move; young Jackson will get a lot of good out of your board for a long time. I hope he pays your kindness & generosity forward some day!

Garnaro mate
I've been lurking on this board for a while now.
I've read all your reports.
Your photographs and reports have been the best reading I've ever seen.
I donated to your school mission a while ago.
I just wanna say.. This ride of yours is brilliant. What spirit. What humanity, Class.
And now when you gave your board to a kid... I had tears in my eyes mate.
OK. That's enough.
xx
