I'll work on it. Not having any issues on my iPhone. Scott, does the McCubbins Gulch PDF work for you? I stripped all the metadata out of the Tillamook SF 2013 version before making it, and the McCubbins Gulch one, too. If McCubbins works for you, then I'll fix the rest and repost. Loud Al, if you're up for it and you want to PM me your email address, I'll send you some revisions to try out, till we can get it working.

I get the same error for McGubbins also. I did redownload just now to make sure I had your most current one. It opens the map in the "PDF maps" program but still give this error "Georeferncing on this map cannot be read. Functions that require coordinates are disabled". Only the newer TSF one seems to work for me.

Thanks for checking into it.

Dang... Wish I knew the first thing about Android. I did read that Avenza needs Android v4.0. Scott and Loud Al, I emailed you a couple of PDFs. Maybe Google Drive is messing them up... I'm guessing probably not though, since I'm able to download from there and have functionality. Wish I knew the difference between how the Tillamook and McCubbins PDFs were made. I'm kind of OCD about method, and I made them within a few minutes of each other.

Running Android 4.1.2. Tried the emailed files - same error. Stupid Android. Seems there are a couple file formats is that an option? Pretty clueless on this topic though - happy to test though.

Hey here's something though. When I look at the map information for TSF map that works (and the built-in map) I see some additional properties (something like the below...lots more geek speak after the "..."'s).

______________

PROJCS["NAD_1983......
GEOGCSI]"....
DATUM["North American....

SPHEROID["GRS....
PRIMEM...
UNIT....

PARAMETER["False_Easting...
PARAMETER....

_______

None of the above properties are on the other maps, sounds like some data is missing.

Couple of file formats in Acrobat?

Next week if I have some time, I'll make a couple of GeoTIFFs. Maybe those will work better for you. That's what the folks at Avenza suggested when I was having technical difficulties early on.

Cool! That's good info. I'll see what I can do.

Geospatial/Georeferenced PDFs

Scott, I was looking at my PDFs in the app on my iPhone, and they all have the GPS info.

I just borrowed a friend's phone and tried a whole bunch of things, to no avail.

Now I'm obsessed. I'm gonna download a developer platform of Android and try to troubleshoot.

Ahh HAH!

This is funny. The new Tillamook Forest trail map is already geocoded on their website! That's why it worked for you. So basically, I'm the reason my maps only work on iPhones and in Acrobat. Time to look into other methods...

Right on! Progress...kinda. I don't mind problems as long as they are consistent, sounds like you're on the right track. I love how you were able to see your tracks on the TSF map as you rode along...very cool!

I'm guessing a Pantech P6030 is not compatible also...

Mebbe a list of phones that will function with that software? I don't know that much (hardly anything) about the different o.s.'s out there in phones...

I do know my phone can geo tag pics, but whether or not it triangulates off towers or sat's, I couldn't tell ya...

Over here on the dry side we have the Deschutes National Forest motor vehicle use map (MVUM) on the Avenza store.
Also a few of the central Oregon OHV area maps are georeferenced for the Avenza app.
You can find those in the COHVOPS newsletter on page 3.
