All,

Hope you all know that all the usgs 7.5. Min quads are free on avenza
Also any map you make in Arc gis 10.0 is geo referenced but anything bigger than 1:30000 starts to lose clarity. I have tried various remedies and not had a lot of luck. free maps are great.

USGS 7.5 from the USGS site:

http://store.usgs.gov/b2c_usgs/usgs/...ow_ustopo=true

Holy Moley !! All the 2011 7.5 maps have many clickable features. Blown away.

Edit: LOTS of historical USGS maps are available here: A Mt Hood USGS map from 1924 shows a logging railroad using the approximate route of the current FS18 road in the North end of Lolo Pass Valley, adjacent to West Fork Hood River. Bennett Pass Rd appears to have started as "Lookout Mtn Trail"

Maps are so cool. This is the motherlode.

Oh, awesome! I've been geeking out on the historical maps, too.

The USGS mapping group has been going whole hog. That site is totally a gold mine of free awesomeness.

Thanks for posting the link. I keep having these drunken inclinations to post links to more geospatial PDF maps... But then I forget.

I was corresponding with the guy who georeferenced the Tillamook State Forest OHV map, for a little bit, getting pointers on ArcMap. His job title is "Off Highway Vehicle Specialist." How fucking awesome is that?

Hey Lucknau, did you see this map? Might be good to add to your site.

Still wish I could get them working right on my android, but sure enjoyed the USGS ones this past fall hiking around the coast range.

Cool, thanks. I haven't given up on trying to make Android compatible maps. Just continuing to fail miserably.

Yeah! The Capitol Forest map was already Georeferenced by the DNR, and that's the link!

Android users rejoice!

Well, I finally figured out how to make all of those georeferenced OHV trail maps work on Android phones, so I re-made them all and re-uploaded them to the links in the first post of this thread.

I recently added the Cle Elum trail system, in two parts (east and west). Thanks, idc22, for peer pressuring me into assembling that one from its many parts.

Anyway, enjoy!

Great work! Thanks for your time putting these together and troubleshooting.

How about Shotgun Creek and Huckleberry Mountain OHVs when and if you have the urge?

Cheers

I found a georeferenced Shotgun Creek OHV map here:

http://www.blm.gov/or/districts/euge...hotgun_OHV.pdf

I'll set up the Huckleberry Flats map and post it soon.

Hmmm I wonder, would it be possible to hover over a printed map, and display a zoomed in version on the phone? Or a different layer?

Right on Lucknau! These all seem to show the Georeferenced data in PDFMAP.

However, the Cle Elum West one seems to go to garbage when imported into PDF MAP, but maybe that's just my phone. Rest of them work great. Can't wait until spring to check some of these places out.

Thanks, Scott. I'll try to fix the Cle Elum west map. The one for the east side works though?

Edit: oh, duh. That's the one I sent you the link to test.

Yeah, rest of them work great, including Cle Elum East. The west one imports, but it's just VERY pixelated.
