I live an hour from Calico, not a big destination ride spot for me but I can put a hell of a ride together from near there. Riding from easy to technical.

I'm talking about Mid Hills Camp Ground in Mojave National Preserve. Thats a long way from Joshua Tree.

We will.

Did you ride your bike to work yesterday Rick? I heard a 4 stroke going up the river about 8am. Hows the wrist?

I will firm up dates soon. I'm very busy at home and have two races left on my sons schedule over the next four weeks. The last round of the Westchec Enduro Series being a 1000 mile round trip drive for us on Veterans Day weekend.

I am planning a day ride for next Friday the 25th.

I'm definitely interested.

Was planning to head up there soon to do some bird hunting. Never been there before, didn't know there was riding.

Yep. That was me. Sure makes going to work a lot more fun.

The wrist is ok. The tendons that connect the thumb to the wrist sure is weak. It really stinks getting old. Last weekend my 10 year old had her birthday party. Long story short, I did a back flip off the 12' high bounce house onto the bounce house landing area. It went great, untill the next morning I noticed alittle nerve type pain around one of my "love handles". Still got that little nerve pain as a reminder. Ha ha

Ps. No alcohol was involved, just pure stupidity.

There is riding but limited to roads/ two track, no cross country travel or single track. I'm primarily an off road guy, trails, singletrack and some gnarly stuff but I don't mind a change of pace considering the scenic value of MNP. Lots of old mines, homesteads, Kelso Depot, etc to explore.

My wife and I like four wheeling so a bike trip will give me a chance to check out some routes I can show her in the truck.

I have my dates. Heading to MNP on Thursday 11/21/13 camping 3 nights. Riding a little and maybe hiking around arrival day, then all day rides Friday and Saturday, getting out of there Sunday morning to miss Vegas traffic.

All other details later, I'm really tied up with home projects today so I'll be posting bits and pieces this evening and over the next couple days.

I'm joining this thread late so I'll keep an eye on it for a summary of the where's and when's whens it gets all decided. It's freezing already here in Arivaca so it's got to be pretty cold by November 21st. Yes?

Found a camp location for the ride that will be much better than Mid Hills Campground in late November. Mid Hiils camp sits at 5600 ft elevation and would be pretty damn cold.

"Mojave Camp" is free and has great shelter from wind . It sits on the Mojave Road just 6-7 miles miles west of paved Kelso Cima Road. Very easy to get to. There are no amenities.

See attached map.

Cool. Do you think one could get a motorhome in there? I can pretty much get to where a 2wheeldrive truck could get to. Not sure if I would bring it, just a possibility. Otherwise trailer the bikes and tent it - car is AWD.

That said, unless my shoulder improves dramatically by then I may have to sit out. I'm not sure it it's torn rotator or just pulled tendons and cartilage. After last weekend in the Piutes it's been hurting like a mofo.
