1. Where do you inflate your tires.
All my life I've been using gas stations to inflate my tires but since I arrived in Australia, I've gone through several bad surprises.
Air stations here are really made for cars and dodgy drivers, the valve will hardly fit the bike and the air flow control that is supposed to stop at 32 PSI will hardly inflate my tires up to 2 bar (after checking with personal gauge) when I like to have 2.5 bar in the rear...

So how are you doing? regular gas station? personal air compressor in your garage? special moto spots?

Any insights appreciated but preferable somewhere between Brighton and Clayton...

2. Where to buy tires
I do have found a nice motorcycle shop in Clayton where I am quite willing to put my order for my next tires... but I have always been a cheap bastard as far as tires are concerned, meaning I always try to get the best price possible. I looking at Michelin pilot road 3 or something similar, any ideas? Where do YOU buy your tires?
I use a Lezyne Classic bike pump with an inbuilt gauge. Seems fairly accurate when tested against my tire pressure gauge and the digital gauges at the servos. Its not plus/minus 1kPa but its in the right ballpark...

I use a compressor at home for tyres, on the road I carry one of these so I can get the servo inflator in to the valve stem:

For repairs I carry a Slime 12v compressor as I am sick of bike pumps that stuff up and co2 cartridges that do bugger all.
For tyres I just go to my local shop, if I am lucky I can get new tyres that have been taken off a new bike to fit proper knobies for cheap

Watch out for Ivan at Pablo's. The bugger put a twist in my Tiger tube when fitting some Anakee 2. Fortunately it didn't rupture until I reached the roundabout in Jindabyne after travelling the Barry Way.

Probably best not to chat to him while he working :)

In a spectacularly stupid bit of organising, I've shifted some work from Monday to Sunday, 3.00pm...
Forgetting completely about joining some mates and watching the GP on the box...
Doh!

Hi all, anyone got plans to get out next weekend 26/27th?

I missed out on your ride the other weekend.

I fancy a blast, either 1 day or overnighter camping, High Country. DR650 type stuff.

Cheers!
