04 KTM 200 exc shift problems

So I'm on my holidays in Moab and my bike has some shift problems, I only get 2 gears and they feel like 2nd and 3rd. the shifter feels sleazy, and won't "click" into any higher gears. I checked the shifter was not bent or hitting the frame or motor.

There is some nasty looking oil collecting on the shifter where it enters the motor that would suggest a bad countershaft seal but the oil level is good and the Rekluse clutch is working fine. It feels linkage related. Anyone have some insight?

I have a few days left and would like to continue exploring the area.
