Are you coming through Provo? If you're in that part of the state at the end of this week, I'd be more than happy to take you to some dirt and if you're camping I've got some great spots if you're interested. Looks like this:

Wow photos

Those pictures are amazing! Love the one of the stars in PD Canyon. Are they all taken with GoPro?

The route you laid out has been KILLER Pantah. Just got a hotel room in Monument valley and will be updating some pics. Remember saying that MV loop was "soft dirt"? In Texas, when its 6 inches deep, we call that shit sand!!

Hey Darren . The star shot was with my T3i DSLR I carry as well. You'll see pics from that, the gopro and my cell all scattered through this RR

Keeping it short and sweet will become a theme with me I'm sure, I'm beat!! Just to catch you up, I left Taos Yesterday morning, headed out 64 and there was some great riding.

Stopped by to say hello to the hippies

I salute you!

Ended up at my destination, Shiprock NM. I had assumed this would be a touristy, photo op place. I was wrong! I rode by it and didnt see any way to get up to it at first, but there is a dirt "road" that will take you there. It was a blast, 4 or 5 miles off the road gets you out of civilization and it was perfect.

I set up my little tent as the sun set.

I ate my granola bar and waited for the sun to disappear. Then the real show began, stars from horizon to horizon and the only sound was the shutter of my camera. I could have stayed here a month.

Just to the left of this, the milky way doing its thing.

A night I will not soon forget. Really dont remember a time I felt that relaxed.

I woke up with the soon and headed out Indian Rt 13 to Indian Route 12, that is some spectacular riding. Big elevation changes, tight turns, gorgeous overlooks...so gorgeous I didnt stop for pictures. I do have some video footage that I'll try to have my buddy in california help me upload, I'm a dunce.

I just wandered my way through Az, had some great conversation at my gas stops and I was in Utah before I knew it. Headed over to Monument Valley and did the loop. really neat rock formations but waaay too many people.

I was pretty beat after riding here then standing on my pegs for an hour riding that loop so I'm crashing at a local hotel in MV tonight. Will be heading further into Utah tomorrow. For now, I get to eat some real food and do some much needed laundry!!
