A reckless crew of bikers was arrested today after weaving around the Long Island Expressway in Farmingville, cops said.
Frightened motorists called 911 around noon and reported a group of motorcyclists driving dangerously around exit 63 and Suffolk police dispatched a pair of highway patrol units to investigate the claims.
The officers eventually spotted the group as they sped down the highway and turned on their lights to pull them over, cops said.
A total of seven bikers were charged with reckless driving and had their high powered cycles impounded, according to Suffolk cops.
They are scheduled to be arraigned later today.
Police did not immediately comment on the exact nature of the reckless driving.

I can't believe two cops got 7 guys to stop. Obviously not the same crew.

They probably weren't even the guys that were called in on. Sometimes the DONUT BOYS like to make examples. Lets them think they're men.

Dunno the article says they followed em for a long time and observed them breaking LOTS of laws.

Well, the news report itself couldn't be much more sensationalistic, referring to the "bikers" with all sorts of verbal grandishments to inflate the story.

But, more to the point, because of those dick heads making national news these past weeks, now the non-riding public will come down on every sort of riding group if anyone does something wrong. Now, if this "gang" was really speeding, swerving in/out of traffic, splitting lanes, riding on the shoulders, well.......dumbasses ya got it coming!! Especially after all the news focus on this recent event. Aren't these guys slightly smart enough to figure out they should lay low and ride like normal cyclists, at least for a while? Surprised they all didn't have GoPro videos of their ride already posted.

C'mon all you little boys out there, time to grow up.

Quote:
A solicitation for donations to bail out a biker accused in last month’s attack on an SUV driver just off the West Side Highway popped up on the Facebook page of a city councilwoman’s motorcycle-loving staffer.
A posting appeared on the page of Queens Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras’ district manager collecting money for assault suspect Robert Sims because “the City of New York is trying to pin everything on him.”
Quote:
Rodriguez, Ferreras’ community liaison, immediately disabled all of her social-media pages after a blogger called the district office to ask about the fund-raising drive.
Rodriguez can be seen flipping the bird in one Facebook picture that shows her sitting atop a brand new motorcycle. “My new bitch!” the caption reads. “Can’t wait to get it on the road!”
Quote:
Rodriguez’s husband also weighed in on the Lien beating and defended his bike riding brethren while referring to cops as “pigs,” according to his now defunct Facebook page.
“Maybe we should give them what they want to see,” he writes in one entry. “I feel like kicking off a few mirrors and smacking a few cop cars on the way home.”
“We lost two bikers to pig land,” he laments in another post. “They don’t know what crazy bikers really means. We out number them by a lot if we wanted 2.”

Catching these callow riders must have been 100 times easier than enforcing the law with the infamous group of +200 of previous weeks.

Maybe just a way to sweep under the rug the NYPD's under-enforcement of that day.

22k in fines. OUCH!
So what the hell's a demerit point in Canada worth? Back when I was a kid you lost your license at 12, my record was 18 but 116 seems kinda bad
