Here is the layout...despite any weather patterns anywhere near the LF campground, it will be cold, wet, and generally miserable. This climate will not happen until the hours after you arrive. You will arrive to pleasant temps and great riding conditions. 15 minutes after you plan your ride, put on your gear, and hit the road the weather will do a 180 degree turn and you will be cold and wet. And miserable. This happens every single time. So wear your big girl panties. Prayer might help, but I doubt it.

You'll be fine. Of all the campouts we do this one is my favorite. You go once and I bet you'll be hooked like the rest of us. You will be cold, wet and miserable but by the following week you'll be back on this thread looking at all the pictures and thinking what a great time you had.

Crazy, ain't it?

I've been to the last three Spring LFs. It was a little chilly some days/nights, especially Friday & Saturday night last year.

Yeah, it rains, sometimes pretty freakin' heavily.
But, "It always rains at Laurel Fork". < Y'all n00bs remember this <. Bring rain gear.

I was never really cold or wet, and I have definitely never been miserable.

One day last year was like this...

...the next day was t-shirt weather.

Sunday morning last year was a bit cold.

Good gear mostly negates all of the miserableness. Says the FF that hopes to be in an RV this year.

Is it April yet?

For some people(me) it took that first LF experience to realize good gear(waterproof tent and rain gear) was worth every penny. That was 2008 or '09 and it rained non stop, that was miserable.

So, how many does that RV sleep?

Yep, and I'm pretty sure he's going to tell me it only sleeps one.

After what you spent on your bike last year that's nothing for a sleeping bag.
