Anesthesia issues probably. Keeping you under for too long is bad for you.

I had my hand and shoulder done back to back. Took roughly 5 hours or so, and that was apparently pushing it pretty fine, esp. with the head injury, and there were some mid-op complications. When I woke up, I was out of it in a bad way. Took about ~6 hours for my memory to come back to the point where I knew where I was and why, very angry (still feel bad for the nurses) and dizzy and clumsy for days. They were considering a 3rd op for the shattered scapula but canned it, partly because they really didn't want to risk it again.

I also think surgeon fatigue comes into it too

On an unrelated note, why the hell did this get moved to vendors?

It's a non-profit community event that runs on a personal financial loss to the organizers.

The one and only TB, he's had hid knee pinned and plated, has spent a couple of days in ICU, and has yet to have his shoulder screwed and plated, but I think he's gonna be ok.

Good onyer mate, I'm sure he would have appreciated the visit, he's a jolly nice bloke when he's not in pain or drugged up.

Nobody can understand moderators mate, they are a different breed.

Phone call with Brian yesterday.

His shoulder and knee operations have gone well, he was still getting a bit of pain from the shoulder (that's to be expected), he'd had his first shower since the accident and was sitting out of bed.

All in all he appeared much more positive than he has been lately.

He tells me they have started the planning to get him back to Brisbane, possibly next week.

Good onyer BB63!
