Warranty lasting longer is always good!
I waited to pick up mine simply for tax reasons! Won't have to pay PPT on it until 12/31/15 simply by waiting until after the 1st of the year! and I can get 2 year tags by waiting till the 1st of the year.
wont be sold.. its mine
I have a hefty deposit on it
:)

Also waiting on my 1190R

Hey all,
My very post here, after lurking for a year and a half... Had a VERY GOOD test ride in Fresno, Ca in Oct and fell in lust. This will be my 5th katoom ('06 950 ADV S, '07 SuperDuke, '08 450 EXCR, '12 990 SMT...) and after 47 yrs of riding most bikes out there, this is a very refined motorcycle, and I believe, KTM's best effort yet. Not perfect, but nothing on this planet is... It IS excellent, tho...
Rode both models, and got to do some very nice twisties, at a good pace, on both the standard, and the R, and my impression was the R felt more planted on the street, and held it's line better than the standard. This was echoed by my friend Robert (fast guy, former racer, owned his own track-day company...)
Have been following all the 1190 threads for awhile now, have a deposit down on an R, and waiting for my dealer (Rene, at Calmoto in Livermore, Ca) to call...
I've been tracking the progress, and can almost see the fleet of trucks driving east-to-west dropping off bikes at dealerships.
Should be this week/weekend, and I'm jonesing for it. Doesn't help that it's 70, sunny and dry here.
So, to those on the other coast, who were complaining about not getting the love on the test rides, you got your bikes first, and I'm still waiting...
Cheers,
Jim

Put 80 miles on mine yesterday and I am blown away! I have had all kinds of sportbikes, track bikes, dirt bikes, etc. And nothing is as amazing as this bike. It truly is a "Swiss Army knife" in the bike world. Stomping motor, awesome seating position, and a taut, well behaved chassis. I shredded the twistys and went 90mph down a dirt road and she never misbehaved, not even once. It is very confidence inspiring to say the least. I arrived home and informed my wife that she wont be seeing me as much as she used to........... She was ok with that;-)

Snow mode?

23 degrees F in Santa Fe this morning.

Very thoughtful of KTM to put a "Snow and Ice" mode for winter use.

Does that strip of dirt count as single track? Kind of like dirt and ice morse code.

Couldn't take it any more. Picked up the bike a week ago, trailered home, put her in the garage and then it snowed the next day. After a week of ~40F temps, my road is almost clear, clear enough at least to get out to the highway. Luckilly, I only have about 400 yards of this kind of crap to get through. A little nerve wracking though for the first ride.

Once out to the pavement, everything is incredibly silky smooth. Feels much smaller and lighter than my F800GS ever did, though it weighs more.

Yes, that counts as Tight, Knarly single track. Congrats on the bike.
I'm still trying to decide R or non R. I'll be happy with either. It might just come down to what the dealer gets shipped to them.

Anyone getting theirs for under MSRP?

Trying to see what sort of wiggle room you have been seeing on pricing

Not bought one but local dealer advised below retail without add on fees. Taxes and tags only.
