Congratulations! I hope you guys enjoy a long life of endless gravel roads into the sunset.

Looking forward to the rest of the ride and scenery...

P.S. I liked the saddle camp in the wind farm!

We then headed from The Deschutes to Tygh Valley and started making our way toward Parkdale and all the other riders meeting up there.

Puddles!

We stop at the old schoolhouse in Friend.

Cool old piano inside.

Then start gaining altitude in the mountains.

We're about 40 miles from Parkdale and a good sized group of riders led by AppleJam pass us going the other way.
Shortly after that a smaller group led by oldmonkeybutt goes by. We stopped at a viewpoint right after that and monkeybutt had turned around to get come get us.
So off we go back the way we came!

Caught up to AJ's group

We all continued back to Tygh Valley together.

Pigpen (already wet from the puddle I passed him in. oops!)

Peterman

Tygh Valley for fuel.

Then back the way we came to Cooper Spur

And finally to Applejam's and Mustangshelly's place for The Apple Valley Rally!

The view from their yard.

End of day 3 and more to come....

Congratulations

Awesome news! Congratulations to you both! Really love the zest for life and riding you both possess and share!

No worries on the "splash" on the pass you made! My mistake as I was just rolling along thinking you were on a DR, much to my chagrin you were on an XR....

Yes, those puddles on the ride out to Friend were sweet!

And some spots were very dry.

Old Friend school house turned community center.

Our friends having a great time at the Apple Valley Rally!

Road Rash's bacon waffles ummmm!

Here's one of Roachy and Bob working on the KLR tire.

Tee-pee time

Jason's little girl is taking in the view from a top the family SUV!

This was a mellow day we took a ride up to the OHV area and in to Hood River for ice cream then stopped by the Mcurdy Orchard for some snacks and a bottle of booze for the evening!

More to come...

Great Photos and RR!!! When you stopped by the orchard, we had NO idea that A Big CONGRATULATIONS was in order. You seem VERY happy together. Enjoy the Ride!!!

Day 4

We started off with some bacon sandwiches and coffee for breakfast then began to get ready for a ride.
My bike needed to be topped off with oil and the chain needed attention. Took a little to long and the last group was out before I was ready.
So we did our own thing for the day.
Played "let's see where this road ends up"

Ended up in the OHV area by Hood River.
Poked around there for a little while and made our way down to Hood River

Hood River was crazy insane with tourists. It was a beautiful weekend and all the orchards were ripe with fruit.
We got some ice cream then headed back out of town to see Craig and Natalie at McCurdy Farms

I know how bad they wanted to be out riding, but their fruit stand and orchard needs lots of work at this time of year!

So back to the AVR we went. I thought it was nice to have a short day,(83 miles) but LittlePosum wanted to keep riding. I wanted to break into the Cranberry Liquor from McCurdy. So I pointed out the single track in the back woods of the property and she took a couple of laps back there.

The next nights feast arrives at the Apple Valley Ralley!

Oldmonkeybutt stories

Still More....

Day 5

Start out another sunny morning with bacon waffles made by Roadrash and help of some others, and are ready for a group ride this time.

MustangShelly knows the way. I think she needs a bigger bike since that DR 200 of hers was wide open throttle most of the way!

Headed out

Coming back down the hill

Meanwhile back at the AVR dogs and humans await the feast.

Not much left!

Everyone was heading out but a few of us remained for that afternoon and evening.

I think this says it all right here. A great weekend had!!!

As it got dark only 6 of us remained.
Squishy headed home, B50Paul, LittlePosum and I stayed one more night.

And still more....!......
