move the nav gear from the baja bike over to this one

gear back up to 14/48

replace or repair the little hole in the clutch cover made by the brake lever

replace the wheel bearings prophylactically. The pivot bearings will probably just get a lot of cleaning and grease. Maybe a replacement we'll see.

New chain.

check the valves

new Shorai

Test everythign at Sandblast.

spare brake and clutch levers, top and bottom... spare cooling fan

spare filters, and spare plastic oil drain bits, spare battery

spare injectors?

ah shit, I have to put the facking blinkers on for Sandblast, rofl

Other than that, four days in the sand with good company? whats not to like?

BMW fag, all the way! I got it in 2010.. Kind of like buying a house at the top of the market. :sheepish I did a few enduros on it, and a bunch of woodsy hooligan stuff with friends. Its got about 125 hours on it.. I was just browsing EBay for spare parts :lol I'll probably only race this one in events where the airheads are basically a no-go-situation, but thats ok, you have to go pretty far to get there

Entries are open for Rally Diabolico!

http://rallydiabolico.com/entry/

We've made adjustments so gas range is significantly reduced. It's not final yet, but it looks like maybe 120 mile (195km) range in normal racing conditions may be adequate.

I just fixed a glitch in the Entry system regarding the "Will you have a third competitor in your race vehicle" question. Sorry if that caused a problem for anyone.

Scott, first Thank you for doing this rally. Now that it is official, can you post some more pictures from the routes so we can start preparing and choosing the right equipment? Also what temperatures are expecting there in April?

Joe, I'm really looking forward to seeing all you DVR guys out there. You know I've been building up to this for many years, and I'm super excited to be able to finally offer you a real race, with the type of navigation and interesting course features that I thrive on, and that I'm sure you will enjoy!

The photos spread across the Diabolico website and in this thread give a fair indication of the terrain. I will continue to be very selective with the photos I post, so as to not give away too much. This includes not posting photos of a coupe of features that vary slightly from the more typical terrain. However, I can say there is a lot of sand. Nearly the whole area is sand in one form or another. In some areas you'll find firm dirt that will go on for quite some miles. You will not find many rocks or whoops. Vegetation varies from little or none on a big dune, to brushy areas with some cactus. It's desert, so expect desert terrain! Oh, and some areas are extremely remote, so carrying a lot of water and survival type items would be very smart.

I'm IN!

Scott:

Congrats on pulling this together - it's a great achievement for you - the North American Roadbook MASTER!

I'm officially registered and excited to see what routes you have put together - we are fortunate to have world class Rally events coming close to home. Thanks for the effort.

Looking forward to good riding and hanging out with a great bunch of guys.

Let me know if you need any help.

See you in Mexico!

Unfortunately, I'm out.. While there's a chance I'll have the green light to ride before the event, probably not wise to try with new hardware and weak arm. Next year!

P.S. Husaberg's are dangerous. Careful!

Follow that road!

I think only one vehicle has been here in the last decade or two, and that was our scouting gang. The owner of the property didn't even know this road was there!
