I could be wrong, but wasn't CP1 at the westernmost point in the dry lake last year?

Anyway, they're into the big Erg today, this is going to be fun.

I have recollection of there being a CP at that point, too, but am thinking it was CP2. I also think I recollect someone (not one of the front runners) taking a huge flyer West from there.

I could be totally out to lunch, too.

I think it was 2 Germans, heading straight north into the desert. And back. And north again. We had fun for hours, tracking them.

Apparently not; the leaders are past the point I guessed.
But if CP1 is at the westernmost point, that's an awfully long run - with some huge speeds across Lake Iriki - for one tank of fuel.

Yep, I checked last year, CP2 was at lake Iriki, with a 15 min neutralization.
