Good for the goose, good for the gander.

Motorcycling continues to give gifts of technique to my car driving. Yes, all the escape avenues, head checks, looking waaay ahead apply but recently I applied the "pre-load the shifter" technique to the stick shift on my old beater BMW 328xi and the shifter felt like buttah going between gears. Why didn't my bike tell me about this trick sooner? Now I will have to flog the GS.
