They look nice.

Mounting them on a WR250R so looks like a no brainer to me remove side reflectors install lights.
But I do have one question....

I have Highway Dirt Bikes hand guards and top clamp which accepts switches.

How does the dimmer come apart ?
I would like to remotely mount the Pot.
The insides on the dimmer potted?
Anyone take one apart?

I know this would void any warranty...although the thing was free so probably no warranty

Thanks
Fred
The bottom of the dimmer just pops of with a screw driver blade. Might take a little work to break the silicone seal. Once the bottom is popped off, it will be easy to see how it comes apart from there. However, I don't think it would work for what you want based on the description above. The rheostat is not weatherproof out of the sealed box, and is connected by a short plug to the circuit board. Remote mounting the knob wouldn't work.

Thanks for the info.
I'm one those guys that takes everything apart so I'm not sure if I can stop myself...

Here is the guts of the dimmer.

I think I will try to waterproof the Pot. extend the wires and mount on my HDB top clamp.
So we will see.

Easy doin bud, RTV or even a little fiberglass case for it. Or coat it in plasty dip when you are done with the wiring.

Here's what I have done so far.

Moved the Pot. from the box to inside these rubber cups to keep it waterproof.
The black cups are those things you put on the end of chairs to keep them form scratching your floor.
I did cut them down to fit...and going to seal the seam with RTV sealer.

The Pot. mounted to HDB top clamp.
I also hooked up an LED so you cam tell if lights are on in the daytime.+ it looks cool

This is going on a WR250R so the box will mounted behind the head light .
Seems to be a little more room behind there.

Ran out of time and RTV sealer so I hope to have everything done tomorrow.

Got them mounted today.
Also hooked up the override switch...works great.
If you have the lights on and dimmed a little hit the switch and they go to full power.
If the dimmer is not switched on the override does nothing.

I can't believe how bright these things are.
I can't wait to give these a road/off road test.

I hope that they are real waterproof...I sometimes go swimming.
These photos not real good bad weather here today...garage lighting real bad.

Strictly artistic shot I wanted everyone to see my beer sign and flag

I think these will work out real good for me seems like a good lighting system.

Thanks

Fred

Got back home yesterday to find mine waiting for me. My bike is in the shop, so I hooked one up to a spare 12V battery. Holy crap, these things are BRIGHT. Just one of them turns night into day; I can't imagine what two will do.
