The performance of which is Dornas fault, not Bridgestone's...

In a coincidentally identical-but-nothing-alike situation, both Dungey and Villopoto missed the joker lane in the Super corss race last night. At least they have the decency to call a spade a spade...

Wow. On another note, I saw "Rush" last night, and it was an interesting look into what goes on behind the scenes in racing. I won't ruin it if you didn't see it, but a disqualification, a crash, a driver meeting, all contributed to one hell of a racing season. The video above reminded me of the garages of Hunt and Lauda in the movie, Moto Gp.com usually shows not much of anything, just a racer with his game face on, or giving the camera a thumbs up.

At least the race had that going for it.

Bautista's sparks, Pedrosa's stoppie, and Lorenzo's bike swap...this race reminded me of a scene from a Luc Besson movie...

The team knew instantly that they screwed up.
Very interesting.

Wow, his tire looked horrible. Surprised anyone could even ride on that!

You know it's a big deal when Nakamoto calls bullshit.

Would not want to be the guy who got the board wrong -- the guy at the end with his face in his hands?

Haven΄t seen Nakamoto as pissed off before.

motogp.com:

2. Every rider will be required to enter the pits and change to his second machine with fresh tyres at least once during the race. In normal circumstances this means that the rider must change machine only at the end of Lap 9 or Lap 10.

3. No rider is permitted to do more than ten laps on any one slick or wet rear tyre. This means that a bike/tyre change before Lap 9 would require a second bike/tyre change to finish the race.

So how do you get from that, that a rider is permitted to do more than 10 laps?

But some of the blame still falls on Dorna, for changing stuff over and over again. It creates room for confusion. Apparently they should also communicate these last minute changes better to the teams (MM and two other riders were DQ΄s).

I'm pretty sure the "red light" on Lorenzo's visor on the grid was reflection of a light on his instrument panel, not a laser pointer directed at him.
I saw the same thing reflect on Rossi's Visor during the race at Qatar, and later on Crutchlow's and Lorenzo's visors somewhere else....

I don't get the outrage. Shit happens. Motorcycle racing on this scale is complex and unpredictable. Most important is no one was injured or killed. There will be other races.

Whoops, thats wrong. I mean to say this...

This abomination offends the very core of my being. I curse everyone associated with Dorna and Bridgestone for all eternity and I refuse to ever purchase or support any product associated with either company in any way for all time...or until next weekend.

He just got reassigned to assembling scooters at the Honda factory in Thailand.

Well,IMHO "this was a great riminder of the daze of AMA racin Daytona" screwed up damn near every year...LOL In all fairness MGP is fun to watch week in week out...this definetly was a clusterfuck...but it comes right back to B-stones being a greedy bunch...I hope they go to a system that allows more then a single supplier...now maybe Stoners quitting makes a little more sense...from behind the scenes

Good stuff.

I don't think anyone's head should roll, cause I agree things don't always go the way they should; but foreseeable or not, that was a shitty race. And while no one got hurt, that was a close call at turn one with 99 and 93. There doesn't have to be a casualty to say circumstances were bad.

That has always been the case at Phillip Island, i have a tire i scored from the a GP at Phillip Island years ago, in chalk it has "Gardner 26 laps" written on it, and the left side was destroyed... right side was like new.
