Thanks. Maybe we can line something up. I'll be out of town from 29 Nov-6 Dec so not much time before I leave. Not sure the conditions are like in the winter but I hoping to get out and do something.

I'm curious as to why this gentleman was unhappy with you passing through his gate. Were you in some restricted area such as a watershed? We have a gatekeeper up here at Copper Canyon on weekends who also has a bit of attitude. He insists that we exit from the gate we entered instead of doing a loop up through Nanaimo Lakes or Port Alberni and contacting him to confirm we have left the area. It would make things much easier to do the one way ride instead of looping back and seeing his unsmiling face. He is known by the locals as being a bit of a different lad.

it's not that bad, stick to the lower levels and you can usually miss the snow. there's lots of riding around. we'll line something up for sure

Sounds like you guys have found some similar riders which is great!

I prefer to stick on the pavement so if/when you want ride on road let me know. I've been riding for several years so am happy to show others around (riding that is, not the area since I am new to Victoria).

Ride safe, Des

Sat Ride, Mill Bay, Cowichan Valley.

OK, for those interested we seem to be formulating a loose plan to meet on Saturday at 11:00 at Serious coffee by Frayne Road in Mill Bay for some dual sporting and powerline trails.

Anyone is welcome, but please be self sufficient for flat tires! I'm sure it will be fun!

Once I get settled and decide on a street bike I'll give you a shout Des. Could be a few months though as I'm waiting on the new models from KTM and Kawasaki!!

Hey Desmodab check out VIBikers.com. Lots of street riders there and a lot of them ride the dirt too. They have a weekly ride. Also I'm on the Island fairly often. I have a place in Sidney but work in Vancouver and I have a few bikes so I'm open to any kind of ride
Chris, one of them is a WR250R

Hey posted this thread a while ago and sorry I haven't followed up with anyone to get out for a ride but my job takes me away from home.

Anyways, if anyone is interested I'm heading up to Shawnigan Lake to ride the logging roads this Sunday shoot me a PM and we'll line something up.

Thanks,
Scott
