No exaggeration at all.

I really don't want that stuff on my bike. I wish there was an option to delete it easily. Sorry to hear your insurance rates are high without an immobilizer on the bike, but that is a non issue for me. I'd rather know that if I put the key in and the bike won't start, I have a chance of fixing it and getting back on the road without spending thousands to get it fixed, towed,,etc.

I'm not a Luddite, I like the traction control and ABS. I just don't like to be stranded.

I'm fortunate to have a dealer VERY close to me that I trust.
Before they were here, I bought one of the first new 2000 Duke II in Florida from a dealer 90 miles south, and it never had to see that dealer again.

Saw that the 1290 Superduke free bike winners were announced. All from Europe. Big snub to the rest of the world!

Well that does it - I'm going to protest this outrage by buying something else -

They just added Australia to Europe???, cool, I'd love to go over there so I guess it's a lot closer now

I am happy it wasn't me, otherwise I would have to go through all the trouble of cancelling my order etc

My mistake. I took AUS to be Austria!

Well, I'm not so sure.

If you look up the list for 3 letter country abbreviations, AUS would be Australia, and AUT would be Austria.
BUT - GER should be DEU, so since they aren't following the abbreviation lists I saw, who knows.

Unless you saw more information than what is on the 1290superduker.com website - the jury is still out.

Well, anyway it is not me! All the dealers probably sent a list to KTM of those with deposits down and said not to choose them!

Not to mention am old and not cool (never was!) so zero marketing value!

My dealer has it listed at $16,999.00. Do KTM dealers add on extra fees like destination and dealer prep?

They can, but it all depends on the dealer.

You've already been there, so ask them !

I will probably never have the skill/experience/confidence to truly ride one of these, but god damn I would sure love to try. By far one of the sexiest and most amazing bikes ever made. I'm going to have to drop the coin on a 690 Duke just so I can pretend.

You could leave it on the rain setting which is 100 HP until you gain experience and maybe take an advanced riding course which I plan to do on my smt. I myself am also far inexperienced. Maybe 3 years road riding experience. I may get one in a couple years when I have more coin.

Yeah, I just started riding last May. I have managed to rack upwards of 7-8000 miles in that time though. Maybe in a few years money will allow me to pick up another KTM, I do miss my 950 Adventure and would love either a SMT or Duke/SuperDuke.
