Pretty much exactly...HERE.

http://goo.gl/maps/DpCwT

Down-valley on the main road from Euseigne and...ride straight through them. :-)

I'll lay off this RR for a few days, only found out last night what happened to a very good friend of mine.

Don't want to spoil the story here...and he would kick me up the bum if I would.
But I need a few days to get a handle on things.

What a stellar ride report. Thanks for all the photos.

Sorry about your friend Jim. Medford is close to the town where I was born.

RIP Jim - i hope every road he's riding now are like the roads in your report!

some incredible views there Pete!
when we were in Chamonix it was raining / snowing... and we beat-feet to the south for warm, sunny skies

Oh yessir, that's MAGIC up there.

Heard the same about Chamonix from a few other folks...I'd certainly turn tail quick-smart if the weather is shoddy.
Knock wood... always been lucky with the place so far.

Some more tiny passes of the Valais into the Val Champex tomorrow, then a quick dash across the St. Bernards garnished with the San Carlo and up to Les Saisies.

Yup - rode RIGHT by it in 2011. Never knew it was there

Or, for that matter, the climb out of Villargondran just south of St. Jean.

.......
That is the beauty of the Alps, you can ride it year after year and never see all of it!

I rode many of those places last year, seems longer than that now. Great roads, and although it was France, I was not impressed with the food, prefer the Bavarian and N Italian meals better.

Will follow you on the other site!

Halooo Glitch,
Yeah I'm reading!! And going crazy with the idea of getting into this same terrain one day! Fabulous report! The tone of the writing really keeps the story moving and adeptly shifts from humor to seriousness. Well done. Really, really well done. And you know when to let the fine photos do the talking, too. Excellent all around. I've got some catching up to do but when I get to the proverbial "fork in the road" I'll swerve over onto your website and pick up the tale there. Thanks for taking all the time and effort into putting this report up here. Alps reports are a real fan favorite and while plain pass-bagging trips are fine and usually have a lot of info, but yours goes beyond and that, to me, makes it special. Thanks again!
