Waldo Ohio

It surprised me, but 17 bikes showed up for the ride to Waldo and Tom led us from the start point in Lodi, OH along a leisurely, and scenic route to Waldo.

I was a pretty good mix of bikes, a couple GS's, a Goldwing, a couple Ducatis, a new Yamaha, and three Harleys.

The destination was what in Riderland they call gourmet food at this fine establishment. I guess its the best food in Waldo, Ohio.

Once there we engaged in some tire kickin', fried
bologna eatin', and general merriment. Here's what was being served:

Think that's low cal or on my low fat diet?

There were probably 60-70 bikes there altogether. Seems from about everywhere. Evidently a sport touring website decided to meet here. Bikes from Ill, NH, Canada, GA, pretty far away!

After that we broke up into several smaller groups and headed off for
the hinterlands of Ohio. I had a great time, the weather was nice,
and it was a pleasure to see so many different brands of bikes at the same location.

On the trip home, not really that late, I noticed that the shadows are getting pretty long around here. Not much riding season left.

Final is a Flug type head shot of me!

Great day, cool but bearable. Glad I remembered to put in the liner in my coat!

Waldo....oHIo

Town where many of my ancestors are residing{Waldo Cemetery}...not much has changed since you did this quick report some 9+ years ago G&R is still serving the best Baloney Sammys in the world...my ancestors are still in their graves.

I however plan on making the 100+ mile back road trek sometime this year from Celina to Knox County{Millwood, town my GGG-Grandfather help build} including a photo shoot in Waldo and other stops....on the new T-Dub 200 I have ordered...some great scenery taking Ohio 47 and some back roads from far West Central Ohio to the Mid Central Part of the State....

You will not be sorry...great bar/great food, interesting area, plenty of great backroads{paved, gravel, dirt}, to explore.....If you were dropped into Waldo via plane you would have no idea it was just a half hour drive from Columbus proper or 15 minutes from the ever expanding and bloated Delaware, Ohio...

Love these things with Pepper Jack, Sweet Pickle, Brown Mustard, and your favorite Brew...

Laugh More Images of {Where is} Waldo

The biggest view in Waldo, at least for me, are the G&R Taveran, where a beer and the best Baloney Sammies along with a cold one are available, and the Waldo Town Cemetary, where my GG-Grandmother Ursula is planted, {along with various levels of great Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins}...she once(back in the mid 1800s) owned the largest track of land in the town. That acreage is now the town/city Park
