I looked at the historical data for the May campout, it looks like it will be about 8 degrees cooler than in the spring. I was comfortable in my hammock, but my feet got a bit cool. This time out, I'll have an underquilt that should help out with the temperature drop, and I'm planning on throwing some hot hands in my sleeping bag.
Best thing for cold weather in a hammock is to use a reflective winshield shade that you use in a car during the summer for a under mat. The kind with the bubbles in the center.

Right now my schedule for the weekend is not looking good. I think I'll have to work Saturday and Sunday, but if I can shake loose one day I'll try and make it down. If I can't, have fun and stay warm.

I've converted an army issue poncho liner into a 2/3 length underquilt, and I've left the ends open so that I can shove one of those shades in between the two layers if need be. If I have room, I'll be grabbing one of those cheap ones that shove in there.

Hope you can make it down, it's be good to ride with you again.

I just called and talked to Mary Anne at Piney. I asked her about checking into our sites early on Friday, and she said that it should absolutely not be a problem. She said it's been slow, and that we are likely to be the only people on the loop again this weekend.

I'll give them a call back on Thursday or Friday and verify that our spots are still free Friday morning, but it should be no problem from what she said.

I've got the camping gear... If I could come I'd tow it anyway. 300 interstate miles on the wee beastie is a bit much. Already got plans tho... y'all have fun.

I have five trailers and two ricks of firewood. I am immortal and fucking hilarious. There will be no jinxing of this event.

That said, there *may* be shenanigans...

We need you to be totally irresponsible, brash and uncouth. Blow off work: it's flu season (fat, lazy, useless) and I can write you a work excuse!!

We're gonna need beer and ibuprofen. Quantity beats quality, FWIW.
